The Playlist, a Netflix show about the ascent of Spotify, is out now. Inspired by the book Spotify Untold, the fictionalized, Swedish, six-part series tells the story of how Daniel Ek (played Edvin Endre) and his partners tried to “challenge the status quo by evolving the way we can all listen to music,” according to Netflix. Today (October 13) is Mike’s birthday and, to celebrate, the New York–based rapper and producer has announced a new album: Beware of the Monkey is due out December 21 via his label 10k. The full-length takes its name from a horoscope he saw in a Chinese restaurant and interpreted as a warning about the future. Accompanying the album announcement, Mike has shared a new song called “Nuthin I Can Do Is Wrng.” Ryosuke Tanzawa directed the video, in which Mike sits in his home studio rapping over the original beat.
