The Weeknd’s HBO Max Series The Idol Gets New Trailer: Watch

The Weeknd has shared a third teaser for his upcoming HBO Max series The Idol. The show stars Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye as a charismatic cult leader moving through the upper echelons of Los Angeles celebrities. The show’s female lead Lily-Rose Depp plays a female pop singer who is seduced by Tesfaye’s character. The latest clip features all-new footage, and reveals that the show will hit streaming next year (though an exact date was not announced). Check it out below. Iggy Pop has released his cover of Leonard Cohen’s 2016 single “You Want It Darker.” It’ll appear on Blue Note Records’ collection of Cohen covers, Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen. Listen to the new song below. Cohen released “You Want It Darker” in September 2016. The album, also called You Want It Darker, followed in October 2016. Carly Rae Jepsen Teams Up With Rufus Wainwright for New Song “The Loneliest Time”: Listen

Carly Rae Jepsen is back with a new song: “The Loneliest Time” is a collaboration with Rufus Wainwright and the latest single from Jepsen’s upcoming album of the same name. The song was produced by Kyle Shearer, who worked with Jepsen on the Dedicated song “Julien,” and was co-written by Jepsen, Shearer, and Nate Cyphert. Listen below. The Loneliest Time follows Jepsen’s 2019 album Dedicated, as well as Dedicated Side B, her collection of outtakes and leftovers that was released in 2020. The new edition—remastered by engineer Ted Jenson at Sterling Sound—includes B-sides and previously unreleased demos. Being back where she was born made for a particularly special night of Lizzo’s The Special Tour on Thursday (Oct. 6) in Detroit. The Grammy Award-winning singer was born Melissa Jefferson in the Motor City during 1988, and though her family moved to Houston when she was 10 years old she continued to visit regularly and still refers to it as home. Thursday’s show before about 15,000 fans at Little Caesars Arena was her largest concert there to date, following a co-headlining slot at the Mo Pop Festival during May of 2019. Depeche Mode Announce New Album, First Tour In 5 Years

Months after the death of founding member Andy Fletcher, Depeche Mode have announced a tour and new album.  The legendary electronic music group’s last album was 2017’s Spirit. The record was followed by their Global Spirit Tour, which grossed a whopping $202 million. The forthcoming album, Memento Mori, does not yet have a release date but it will be released on Columbia Records. Memento Mori will be Depeche Mode’s first album since the news of Fletcher’s death back in May. Charlotte de Witte has announced a new EP, Apollo, soon to be released on her very own KNTXT label. The techno superstar, who was recognized as one of EDM.com‘s best music producers of 2020, took to Twitter to make the announcement, adding that the EP will be available digitally and on vinyl. de Witte recently made history as the first woman to close out Tomorrowland‘s Mainstage, the most prominent stage at the world’s largest EDM festival. Having performed at the iconic fest every year since 2017, she was one of 600 artists this year.
