Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment has purchased a majority stake in Avicii’s master recording and publishing rights. The assets of Avicii’s catalog were previously held by his family estate, though they still reportedly own 25% of the overall share. The partnership effectively ensures the iconic dance music producer’s family will continue to have a say in how Avicii’s music is promoted and utilized going forward. Avicii is survived by his parents, Klas Bergling and Anki Lidén. James Murphy and the band announced “New Body Rhumba” back in August. They made the song for Noah Baumbach’s new film adaptation of Don DeLillo’s White Noise. “New Body Rhumba” is the first new song from LCD Soundsystem since 2017’s American Dream. Murphy and the band’s “comeback” record appeared six years after their supposed farewell shows at Madison Square Garden, which they captured with the 2012 documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits.
