Brent Faiyaz Drops Music Video for ‘Wasteland’ Cut “All Mine”

Brent Faiyaz is attempting to salvage his relationship in the new music for “All Mine.” The single, which comes off of his sophomore album Wasteland, hears Faiyaz lament that his girlfriend has moved on with another man. Filmed entirely in black and white, the visual cuts between shots of Faiyaz smoking and a woman waiting for him show up at a fancy restaurant. When the artist strolls in late, the two get into a heated argument at the dinner table. “I know that I’ve been the worst / But I love you better,” Faiyaz sings on the track. “If you let me / Let’s catch a flight, change the weather / And I promise forever.” Wasteland debuted in July, compiling singles from the previous two years, such as 2020’s “Dead Man Walking” and 2021’s “Gravity” with DJ Dahi and Tyler, the Creator. The project...

Pusha T Once Again Disses McDonald’s for Arby’s: Watch the New “Rib Roast” Video

Pusha T has, once again, shared a diss track aimed at a sandwich. For a new campaign with fast-food chain Arby’s, Pusha T has recorded a track mocking the McDonald’s McRib and promoting Arby’s Real Country Style Rib Sandwich. The rapper also collaborated with Arby’s on a limited-edition line of merchandise inspired by the sandwich, including bolo ties, trucker hats, and shirts. Check out the music video, starring bull riding champion Ezekial “Blue” Mitchell, below. In 2014, Pusha T appeared on the ...

Nile Rodgers Got a Namesake Asteroid for His 70th Birthday

Nile Rodgers is now the namesake of an asteroid, as Rolling Stone reports. Rodgers’ friend Simon Lowery, who works at the European Southern Observatory and is affiliated with the International Astronomical Union, arranged the honor. He revealed the newly named Nilerodgers (191911) at a dinner celebrating the songwriter’s 70th birthday earlier this month. According to Rolling Stone, Nilerodgers (191911) was first discovered in April 2005. Lowery went through a formal process with the IAU to have the potato-shaped asteroid officially renamed for Rodgers. He told the outlet that Nilerodgers (191911) is about 300 million miles away from Earth, taking just under six years to complete one full orbit. It’s approximately one and a quarter miles wide and “would destroy Earth basically,” according t...

Joe Bussard, Record Collector Who Preserved Early American Blues and More, Dies at 86

Joe Bussard, a record collector who helped preserve and celebrate early American blues, country, gospel, and folk music, has died. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2019. Bussard’s family announced the news in a Facebook post, writing that he had died “peacefully at home” on September 26. He was 86 years old. Through his collecting, Bussard developed one of the biggest, most rarefied stockpiles of music that otherwise would have been lost to history. Reports estimated his collection to be between 15,000 and 25,000 records, which are notably more fragile than their vinyl counterparts due to their interior makeup and shellac resin exterior. He maintained a focus on old-time music: material recorded and released before World War II. Bussard picked up his collecting habit...

Paramore Announces First Album in 5 Years, ‘This Is Why’

In one of the most anticipated musical comebacks of the year, Paramore has returned with its first new music in half a decade, sharing the news of its forthcoming sixth LP This Is Why and sharing the project’s titular track. The Nashville-based trio — consisting of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York — has been on hiatus for the past few years following 2017’s After Laughter. The new single was inspired by the group’s reentry into the music landscape, particularly in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Williams dove into the creative process behind “This Is Why” in a statement: “”This Is Why” was the very last song we wrote for the album. To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics but Taylor convinced Zac and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was ...

Coolio Was Working on Song With Irish Singer Christy Dignam Before Death, Said it Was ‘Probably Going to be a Banger’

Coolio‘s death at 59 on Wednesday (Sept. 28) left many unanswered questions, including whether the beloved “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper left behind any unheard music. But as spotted by People magazine, earlier this summer the MC born Artis Leon Ivey Jr. had been working on a new song with the lead singer of Irish rock band Aslan, Christy Dignam, just a few months before his passing. “We’ve just got into it,” Coolio told the Irish Examiner in July in an interview about his return to one of his favorite cities in the world, Dublin, Ireland. “We’re working on a track. We haven’t even started writing any lyrics. The track is being built as we speak. Somewhere within the next four to six weeks we should have something tangible we could work with.” Coolio — who told the paper he loves Dublin so m...

Cher Walks in Balmain Finale at Paris Fashion Week in Spandex Bodysuit

Paris Fashion Week roared into full gear Wednesday (Sept. 28) with atmospherics and excitement over Balmain’s evening fashion-music festival spectacular — a star-studded charity concert featuring the latest fashions, members of the public and performances. That included a finale walk from none other than Cher. Olivier Rousteing proved he is one of global fashion’s biggest showmen — putting on, yet again, not a show but a festival for Balmain that took place in a giant stadium. Of course, the greatest celebrity moment of Paris Fashion Week just had to be clinched here — when the designer came out at the end arm in arm with Cher. The 76-year-old Oscar winner trod the boards all smiles — to screams from the crowds — in a marbled spandex bodysuit, plunging neck, platform wedges and the house’s...

We also know it because on Wednesday (Sept. 28), Miley shared a sweet old voicemail she saved from Taylor in which he encouraged her to take a swing at the pop metal ballad. “A personal request from the legend himself. #TaylorHawkins my friend, my idol…. My neighbor,” wrote Cyrus about the legendarily sweet, energetic and encouraging timekeeper who died at 50 on March 25 while on tour with the Foo Fighte...
