YG has unveiled the list of guest artists appearing on his forthcoming sixth studio album, I Got Issues. Slated to drop on Friday, September 30, the project follows the Compton rapper’s 2019 release, 4Real 4Real, and 2020’s My Life 4Hunnid. I Got Issues will see Roddy Ricch and Post Malone, who linked earlier this year for their own collaboration “Cooped Up,” appear alongside YG on a song entitled “Sober.” In another well-selected pairing, the rapper will also team up with both J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo for “Scared Money .” Elsewhere on I Got Issues, R&B singer H.E.R. will have a guest slot on “Go Dumb” and Nas will feature on “No Weapons.” A somewhat unexpected collaboration, indie bedroom-pop singer Cuco will feature on “I Dance.” The last two guest appearances come from California ra...
Future has sold his catalog from the years 2004 to 2020 to Influence Media Partners. While the exact price of the catalog wasn’t disclosed, a source close to the deal told Variety that the rapper fetched a price in the “high eight figures.” Beginning with the launch of his career, the sixteen-year period saw Future release 612 singles across eight studio albums, in addition to collaborations, a reissued LP, mixtapes and songs not listed on any full-length project. Among the mix of tracks in the catalog is Future’s highest-charting solo single, “Mas Off” and his GRAMMY Award-winning “King’s Dead” with Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and James Blake. The catalog also includes one of his iconic tracks with Drake, “Life Is Good” and his Rihanna collaboration, “Selfish.” “I put everything into my musi...
Kanye West has responded to a recent Billboard report that his catalog is up for sale, with his team allegedly seeking up to 35-times gross profit for the approximately $5 million USD cut it earns the rapper in royalties each year. According to Billboard, West’s team “met selectively with prospective buyers to explore what kind of valuation his song catalog could fetch,” with a potential valuation of $175 million USD for the entire lot. On Tuesday evening, West took to social media to challenge the reports, saying that he wasn’t aware his catalog was up for grabs. “Just like Taylor Swift… my publishing is being put up for sale without my knowledge,” the rapper wrote in an Instagram Story. Swift was previously in a legal battle with her former manager Scooter Braun for ownership over her fi...
