Guns N’ Roses Announce New Use Your Illusion I & II Box Set

Guns N’ Roses have announced a new box set collecting Use Your Illusion I and II (via UMe/Geffen). The latest package of the albums, originally released on the same day in 1991, comes in a variety of forms including 12-LP and seven-CD sets, a Blu-ray edition, a digital release, and more, all of which feature remastered audio; the full package includes 63 unreleased tracks and videos. New York rapper Wiki and New Jersey producer Subjxct 5 have announced a new collaborative mixtape called Cold Cuts. It’s out October 21 via the rapper’s Wikset Enterprise. Class is in session for Lana Del Rey fans. New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music has launched a new course for this fall centered around the singer-songwriter. The two-credit course, titled “Topics in Recorded Music: Lana Del Rey,” is taught by journalist and author Kathy Iandoli and will run from October 20 to December 8, according to Variety. Congolese-born, Montreal-based musician, songwriter, and DJ Pierre Kwenders has won the 2022 Polaris Music Prize for his third album, José Louis and the Paradox of Love.  An 11-member jury selected the record as the Canadian album of the year, based on artistic merit, without regard to genre, sales, or record label. The announcement was made at the Carlu in Toronto on Sept. 19 — Polaris’ first in-person celebration since 2019.
