According to reports, the veteran rapper and actor has signed on to be in the revival of Between Riverside and Crazy, completing the cast. The play, written by Stephen Adly Guirgis, won a Pulitzer Prize in 2015. It will be directed by Austin Pendleton and return most of the cast from the original production. On Saturday night, Travis Scott headed to Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas for the first performance of his Road to Utopia residency. The seven-night residency, which is only one part of a “multi-year partnership” between Scott and Zouk, will see the rapper perform six shows non-consecutively between September 17 and October 15. Taking its name from Scott’s long-awaited fourth studio album, Utopia, the residency kicked off with a slew of songs from the unreleased project. The Tallest Man on Earth has announced a new covers album. Too Late for Edelweiss is due out this Friday, September 23, via Anti-. The 10-track release includes covers of songs popularized by Bon Iver, Lucinda Williams, Yo La Tengo, the National, Hank Williams, and more. The album takes its name from “För sent för Edelweiss,” a song by the Swedish pop musician Håkan Hellström that’s also covered on the album. The LP was recorded in Tallest Man on Earth songwriter Kristian Matsson’s native Sweden and in North Carolina between sessions for a new album of original songs. The Armenian music festival Urvakan has postponed its 2022 edition after clashes broke out on the country’s border with Azerbaijan. Mariah Carey says she has unearthed the original version of her mythic 1995 alt-rock album—a version, believed lost, that features her own lead vocals. In a podcast interview with Rolling Stone’s Brian Hiatt, Carey hinted that she intends to release her version of Someone’s Ugly Daughter, and that she was also planning a related project, or perhaps an update of the album, with another artist.
