Paramore To Release First Single in 5 Years “This Is Why”

Fans of Paramore can look forward to the end of September when the band will finally break its five-year hiatus with a new single. The pop-punk trio — made up of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro — will be dropping a track called “This Is Why” on Wednesday, September 28. Due via Atlantic Records, Paramore shared the song’s artwork on social media. The image was photographed by Zachary Gray and shows the band members with their cheeks pressed up against a damp glass window. While Paramore hasn’t put out new music since 2017’s After Laughter, lead vocalist Williams put out two solo albums, Petals for Armor in 2020 and Flowers for Vases / Descansos in 2021. Foo Fighters Announce New Essential Album

Foo Fighters have announced a new greatest hits collection. The physical-only release, called The Essential Foo Fighters, is out October 28 via Legacy Recordings. Find the tracklist—featuring hits like “My Hero,” “Everlong,” and “Best of You”—below. The Essential Foo Fighters follows the band’s 2009 Greatest Hits album, as well as the 2021 studio album Medicine at Midnight. The compilation also marks the first major Foo Fighters release since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in March. Foo Fighters, along with many special guests, recently played the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London. Another tribute show is scheduled for September 27 in Inglewood, California. Nothing Compares, the upcoming documentary about Sinéad O’Connor, has received a release date and new trailer. The film, directed by Kathryn Ferguson, chronicles the singer-songwriter’s career and features live performances, music videos, and previously unseen footage. Taylor Swift has posted a new video giving a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her new album Midnights. Notably, it features footage of longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff. Concord’s HitCo Acquisition Includes Catalog & New Releases, Not Brand

Concord has officially confirmed its acquisition of what it calls “certain assets” of Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Charles Goldstuck‘s HitCo Entertainment, “including (with limited exclusions) its entire sound recording catalog and certain recent releases.” The deal is also expected to include some upcoming tracks from top HitCo acts Saint JHN and Rubi Rose, sources say. Additionally, sources tell Billboard the ongoing transition does not include the purchase of the HitCo brand or the label, though Concord is working with a handful of HitCo staffers during the changeover and may continue to work with some after that is completed.
