Britney Spears is back with her first newly recorded song since the Glory era, and it’s a duet with Elton John. “Hold Me Closer” is a spin on John’s 1971 classic “Tiny Dancer.” The updated track was produced by Andrew Watt. John announced the single’s release date in an Instagram post that featured a split image of Spears and himself as children (Britney in a frilly pink dress, Elton seated at a piano). Mickey Guyton has shared a new single, her first new material since she issued her debut album Remember Her Name last September. The new track is titled “Somethin’ Bout You.” Check it out below. Guyton’s first album arrived ten years after she was signed to Capitol Records Nashville. She’d previously released four EPs: Unbreakable, Bridges, and two self-titled projects. She performed her song “Black Like Me” at the 2021 Grammys in before singing the national anthem at the 2022 Super Bowl. Lil Tjay Shares Video for New Song “Beat the Odds”
Lil Tjay has shared a new song, “Beat the Odds.” The single is in reference to the shooting he survived in Edgewater, New Jersey in June. In the cover art for the single, Tjay appears to be wearing a medical neck brace. The rapper has also shared a self-directed video for the track, which includes footage of him recovering in a hospital bed and clips of him rapping in a hospital room. It also seems to include audio of the 911 call from the day he was shot earlier this year. Check it out below. Offset and Moneybagg Yo have reunited for their newest collab, “Code.” Clocking in at just a little over three minutes, the track is produced by Money Musik, ARJI and Veyis and follows last week’s “54321,” which was produced by Baby Keem. “Code” marks Offset and Moneybagg Yo’s second collaborative effort this 2022; the pair previously teamed up for Trippie Redd‘s “Big 14.” As Offset hints at the release of even more new solo music, he filed a lawsuit against Migos‘ record label Quality Control Music for not honoring a deal they made in regards to his solo career.
