The Weeknd has shared another new teaser for his upcoming HBO Max series The Idol. The show—set in “the gutters of Hollywood,” as the new clip points out—centers on a female pop singer (played by Lily-Rose Depp) as she becomes romantically involved with a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader. Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye stars in the series, which he produced and co-wrote. The new trailer does not list a release date, but it does give a look at a number of cast members, including Moses Sumney, Blackpink’s Jennie, Mike Dean, Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, Hank Azaria, Hari Nef, and more. Coldplay have announced 2023 dates on their world tour in support of Music of the Spheres. Mike Dean has opened up about his experience working on Ye, the 2018 studio album Kanye West scrapped just weeks before its due date. In a recent interview with Nile Rodgers’ Deep Hidden Meaning, the record producer and multi-instrumentalist shared, “Till it’s over, anything can happen, especially Kanye.” Dean further explained that despite the fact that they only had a few weeks to finish the new record, he was pleased with how it turned out. “In Wyoming, for the Ye album, we had 10 songs, I guess.
