Denzel Washington and Spike Lee are set to reunite for their fifth film together. Partnering with A24 and Apple TV+, the two are remaking Akira Kurosawa's crime thriller, High and Low. The original 1963 film was based on the Ed McBain novel King's Ransom and starred Toshiro Mifune. It followed the ruin of a businessman following a ransom payment made to kidnappers.The first time audiences saw Washington and Lee share the screen together was in 2006 for Inside Man. While Apple is a co-financier for the film, the project is not under the recent multi-year deal that A24 has recently brokered with MAX last year.
