Apple Studios has acquired the rights to an untitled Formula 1 project. The upcoming movie will star Brad Pitt and will be directed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. Some Marvel fans are hoping that the third time could be the charm for Sony’s Morbius. After an abysmal run at the box office hitting lower than expected numbers at the re-release, fans are now asking the studio to release the film again for the third time in theaters. HBO has unveiled a new image of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie in the highly-anticipated The Last of Us series. The photo sees the two seemingly hiding, bending on the floor with a single source of light illuminating the scene. Netflix and Junji Ito have announced their upcoming anime series Maniac: Tales of the Macabre. Unveiled during the streamer’s ongoing Geeked Week, the show will adapt 20 of the Japanese horror mangaka’s stories  for the first time ever — three of them being Tomie, Souichi and The Hanging Balloons. In a three-minute video, Ito himself shared a sneak peek at the design drawings fans can expect in Maniac, adding that it will the streamer in 2023. Maniac will follow Toonami’s adaptation of Uzumaki, which is helmed by Hiroshi Nagahama, animated by Drive and co-produced by Production I.G USA and Williams Street. A notebook used to keep notes and observations during the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard defamation trial has just been sold for $14,969 USD on eBay with 142 bids. This “Secret” notebook was kept by Larry Foreman where he traveled from Kentucky to Virginia and sat in on dates May 17, and from May 23 to May 26. Each trial day saw roughly 20 pages of info added in by Foreman and contains details that have “never been seen by the world” and “roughly 100+ tweets of top secret information about the jurors.” The listing indicates that the funds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Earlier in May, Sony announced that it will be working with Netflix to develop a TV series adaptation of the Horizon Zero Dawn franchise, and now rumors of more details have surfaced. According to Giant Bomb‘s Jeff Grubb, the new series will be named Horizon 2047 and run in parallel with the games. As its name suggests, the show will be set in the year 2047 before the fall of humanity that led to the extinction of most of the life and Earth and the reign of the machines. Sony Pictures Animation is teaming up with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan to create an animated Ghostbusters series for Netflix. The series will be directed by Chris Prynoski and Jennifer Kluska. Announced during the third day of Netflix’s Geeked Week, June 8 also marks the 38th anniversary of the film’s original release — usually referred to as Ghostbusters Day Ecto-Fest.
