Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn shut down reports of a possible prequel storyline, reminding fans of the relationship between Thanos, Nebula and Gamora. A tweet claimed that the Guardians of the Galaxy prequel series will focus on “Gamora’s family-like relationship with Nebula and Thanos,” to which Gunn responded, “lol no – he tortured them, not exactly a “family-like” relationship.” While the filmmaker did not directly deny any involvement of Thanos and Nebula in the supposed prequel series, he made sure to clarify that any so-called familial relationship the three had was not familial at all. Making its debut in 2011, the show takes place in a futuristic city where heroes are sponsored by corporations and their good deeds are broadcast for the public to watch on a popular cable television network.
