After debuting the upcoming sequel’s official poster yesterday, Paramount has now dropped the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, giving fans of the franchise the first look at Idris Elba‘s Knuckles. Featured above, the clip begins with Sonic fighting crime and hanging out with James Marsden‘s Tom Wachowski before the dark and ominous return of Doctor Robotnik, played once again by Jim Carrey, threatens the fate of the world. Unlike the first film, Eggman is now assisted by the famed red echidna Knuckles, who takes Sonic on in a fight at the end of the trailer. Netflix‘s live-action adaptation of the classic anime series Cowboy Bebop has officially been canceled. Before it hit the streamer, the series received a much-anticipated reaction to the release from fans worldwide. Kotaku reported that the show had “decent viewership figures of 74 million hours worldwide during its first week (after launching on November 19).” However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, viewership dropped 59% immediately after its debut week. Brad Pitt has boarded a film project with British Formula One racing legend, Lewis Hamilton. The Hollywood Reporter reports that studios and streamers are putting in their bids for the upcoming racing project set to feature a slew of big names. So far, the untitled film has Brad Pitt signed on to star, as well as Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker behind Top Gun: Maverick, to direct. Famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter Ehren Kruger are also attached to the project. Sources have revealed to the publication that offers are coming in from major studios including Paramount, Sony, Universal, MGM, Netflix, Amazon and Apple. Squid Game director Hwang Dong-Hyuk has recently revealed his potential plans for the plot for the hit Netflix show’s second season. In a recent virtual SAG panel held last week by Entertainment Weekly, Hwang explained that though he was not ready to fully discuss any details of a second season of Squid Game he alluded, “If there were to be a season two, in the first season that we saw [Seong] Gi-hun is a character whose humanity is shown through or exposed in certain situations. Netflix has dropped off the official trailer for season four of the Emmy-nominated martial arts-comedy series Cobra Kai, which is set to premiere on the streamer on December 31. Cobra Kai takes place more than 30 years following the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, with the ever-evolving conflict between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence at the center of its plot. James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has provided more details as to who would portray the next 007 agent. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Broccoli explained that the next titular agent will be a British man of “any ethnicity.” When asked to discuss the future of the character, she also explained why the agent will never be played by a woman and will continue to be played by a man, “I think it will be a man because I don’t think a woman should play James Bond.
