Riding on the success of the Venom franchise and the anticipation for both Morbius and Kraven the Hunter, Sony Pictures is now rumored to be expanding its own Spider-verse with even more Spider-Man villain spin-offs. According to a new report from The Direct — which cited insider Daniel Richtman as its source — the company is now looking to develop franchises for two more of Spidey’s most notorious enemies: Rhino and Sandman. Both have already had representations on the silver screen, with Sandman appearing in 2007’s Spider-Man 3 and Rhino making a short cameo at the end of 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Dennis Villeneuve‘s Dune is set to return to IMAX theaters in December 2021. According to reports, the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic will make its way back to IMAX theaters on December 3 for a limited time only. Deadline states that Dune’s IMAX-exclusive 1.90:1 aspect ratio will allow audiences to see 26% more picture, while its 1.43 aspect ratio in select theaters worldwide boasts of 40% more picture. The Timotheé Chalamet-starring film recently left HBO Max, making it currently a theater exclusive. Hayao Miyazaki is back in the director’s chair for the first time since 2013’s The Wind Rises with his last Studio Ghibli film. In an interview with the New York Times, the filmmaker shared that he has been working on the new movie for the last four years and that it is based on Genzaburo Yoshino’s novel How Do You Live? Peacock has offered a new teaser of its reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The hourlong series comes from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith‘s Westbrook Studios and is based on Morgan Cooper’s popular fan film that re-examines the original series. The Peacock version is set in present-day America where Will Smith’s character is played by Jabar Banks. Paying an homage to the original persona, Banks wears Jordan’s while dancing to the theme song. Squid Game has officially been dethroned by the newly released series Hellbound on Netflix. In just 24 hours, the Netflix original jumped to the first position in world rankings — a feat that took Squid Game eight days to accomplish. While Hellbound sits at the No.1 position, setting a new record for a Korean series, Squid Game is still on the Top 5 list at third place. Directed by Train to Busan‘s Yeon Sang-ho, Hellbound involves a supernatural phenomenon in which the people of an alternate reality of Earth are subject to the mercy of messengers that suddenly materialize to deliver prophesies and to drag humans to Hell. Amazon Studios is reportedly “nearing a deal to develop a series” based on Mass Effect, the best-selling Electronic Arts video game franchise, according to Deadline. Electronic Arts and BioWare have not officially confirmed a series; however, the companies have previously indicated that a TV project will eventually go into production. After putting up posters hinting at the endgame for the My Hero Academia manga in Shibuya, Japan, the publisher has released another set of posters on Twitter, revealing the confrontation between the protagonist Izuku Midoriya (Deku as his hero name) and the villain Shigaraki.
