Charli XCX to Star in and Produce Takashi Miike’s Next Film

Charli XCX is diving deep into the world of film with a new project on the horizon. The global artist is getting ready to star in and produce Audition director Takashi Miike's new movie.Miike is known for his prolific and gory horror films. Though much of the details for the new project remains under wraps, Miike's reputation for extreme violence in his cult classics, including the 1999 fan favorite Audition and 2001's Ichi the Killer, are expected to return to the new project. Ross Evans is expected to pen the script. Charli, who is a multi-Grammy award winning artist, has turned her attention to acting and producing lately. An eerie horror is coming to theaters this summer and Josh Brolin is slated to lead the film directed by Zach Cregger. Weapons follows the events after the disappearance of a group of school children from one class, whose teacher is played by Julia Garner. The small Florida community seeks to search for the missing children who appear to leave in the middle of the night without a trace. Brad Pitt has a new film on the horizon and he is slated to star in the upcoming adaptation of The Riders. The project is said to finance and distribute the film via A24.Production is expected to begin in early 2026 and shoot across multiple locations in Europe. Conclave filmmaker Edward Berger is currently on board to direct. The film is based off of Tim Winton's novel of the same name, following a man who has just moved to Ireland with his family and later goes on a search for his missing wife.
