Kaskade is looking forward to bidding 2020 goodbye with one last hurrah. The producer added a NYE drive-in concert to his schedule, set to take place in Norco, California just outside of Los Angeles. Despite a year of limited show opportunities, Kaskade has managed to connect with his fans in a live setting more frequently than most. The producer landed on a number of virtual festivals, including the inaugural Digital Mirage Music Festival lineup, and he even played a breathtaking show at the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Ten months after Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II was deposed as Emir of Kano, the Vice Chancellor of University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Lillian Salami, has asked the Federal Ministry of Education to clear the air on the status of the former monarch as the Chancellor of the institution. Sanusi was appointed Chancellor of the institution in 2015 by the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. He was however deposed as Emir by the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, in March 2020, over alleged “insubordination”. U.S. senators seek possible sanctions over Ethiopia conflict abuses
Two U.S. senators have called on their government to consider imposing sanctions on any political or military officials found to be responsible for human rights violations during a month of conflict in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region. The proposed resolution was introduced on Wednesday by Senator Ben Cardin, a Democrat, and Senator Jim Risch, a Republican. It was the first such call by U.S. lawmakers since war between Ethiopian federal forces and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) broke out on Nov. 4.
