Mysteryland “Lets Get High” Virtual Festival Will Feature DJs Performing from Hot Air Balloons

Mysteryland is taking virtual festivals to new heights with “Let’s Get High,” their debut digital streaming event that will host 50 artists across 8 channels for 6 hours of all things EDM, broadcasting Saturday, August 29th.  Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the Netherlands’ longest-running festival had to make adjustments to their original plans. A-Trak to Headline Drive-In Show in Southern California

Since mid-March, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced traditional concerts to take an indefinite hiatus. Over the past few months, however, we’ve seen an emergence of drive-in shows to supplement the loss of live music.  At the end of August, A-Trak will be headlining a drive-in show in SoCal hosted by GLOBAL SOUNDEMIC. Additionally, GLOBAL SOUNDEMIC has stated this will be the first of many shows in their “Drive-In Dance Party” series. KPM Promotions Gears Up to Host Utah’s First EDM Drive-In Show, “Roll’N Rave”

Outside Lands Announces Lineup for Virtual Edition Featuring ZHU, Gryffin, Major Lazer, More

Untold and Neversea Music Festivals Offer Festival Tickets In Exchange for Blood Plasma

The organizers behind Romania’s biggest music festivals, Untold Festival and Neversea, are offering an attractive incentive for donating blood plasma—free festival tickets. The donation campaign, titled Blood Network, is a partnership between the festival and supermarket chain Kaufland Romania. The limited time offer is being extended specifically to recently recovered COVID-19 patients. Plasma from patients cured of the virus is highly sought after due to the presence of antibodies, which could help sick patients find the path to recovery. Donors through Blood Network will be rewarded with a free one-day pass to the 2021 edition of either Untold or Neversea. This week, The Burning Man Project—Black Rock City’s prized mecca of international artists, free-thinkers, and other madcap creatives—launched a new microsite to collect financial donations.  It packs a somber but encouraging message. “Sadly we will not be gathering in the Black Rock Desert in 2020. Though this will result in an unprecedented revenue shortfall for Burning Man Project, we remain optimistic,” the site reads. “We are committed to maintaining the critical infrastructure we’ll need, after cuts to expenses and staffing, to produce Black Rock City 2021 and continuing our vital off-playa work in the year ahead. Shaq to Perform Virtual DJ Set for Penn State University Students

The biggest DJ in the world, Shaquille O’Neal aka DJ Diesel, is set to perform for new and returning Penn State University students later this week. Known for his hard-hitting mix of bass heaters, the NBA legend has performed at major dance music events like Tomorrowland, Lost Lands, Miami Music Week, and more. In addition to his on-stage presence, he’s released tunes with Nitti Gritti, Riot Ten, NGHTMRE, and most recently Eliminate.  Hosted by the school’s Student Programming Association and funded by the students’ activity fees, the performance is free for all students who register. UK’s First Socially Distanced Concert Provides a Look Into the Immediate Future of Live Music

Though the COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the live music scene due to the cancellation of major tours and global festivals, innovation and adaptation are rapidly taking place in an effort to save the industry.  The UK’s new pop-up venue, Virgin Money Unity Arena, is leading the charge toward building back to normal, recently hosting the nation’s first socially distanced concerts featuring English indie rock artist Sam Fender. Dubfire, Guy Gerber, Ricardo Villalobos Among Artists Set to Play Caprices 2020

Ahead of its September event, Swiss Alps-based Caprices Festival just dropped a stellar lineup featuring some of techno and house music’s biggest tastemakers. Set to host 1,000 attendees, Caprices is likely to be one of the only major European festivals taking place in person this year.
