The five-day assembly of conferences, performances, panels and more brought out over 450,000 attendees, who hailed from 146 different countries. 2022 marked a full return for the event following a series of pandemic-related cancellations. Just three weeks away from the scheduled kickoff of Chicago’s Necropolis Music Festival, organizers have pulled the plug. The Halloween weekend event was set to debut with a big lineup featuring the likes of Alison Wonderland, Adventure Club, Excision and Getter, among others, but its promoter, Auris Presents, have revealed their grand plans are not coming to fruition. Porter Robinson and Crunchyroll are teaming up for a bespoke “anime music experience” at Second Sky, the electronic music star’s curated music festival in the Bay Area.
