New York’s Avant Gardner Revokes Vaccine Mandate for Event Attendance
Two weeks ago, Brooklyn-based electronic music venue Avant Gardner shared an announcement requiring attendees to be vaccinated for all upcoming shows. However, in response to the state of New York’s rescinding of COVID-19 restrictions, Avant Gardner has revoked its vaccine mandate. Earlier this week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo lifted sweeping state ordinances on social distancing requirements, capacity limits, health screenings, and cleaning protocols. The Governor’s statement followed a milestone that 70% of New York’s adult population had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Tomorrowland 2021 Unlikely After Belgian Government Rejects Permit Application
Despite a rosy outlook in recent weeks, it looks like Tomorrowland will abandon its 2021 dates after the Belgian government rejected the festival’s permit application. According to VRT News, the mayors of Boom and Rumst have refused a permit to host the massive music festival, which is currently planned for August 27-29 and September 3-5. The organizers of the Southern California pool party mecca Splash House have announced the event’s grand 2021 return. Known for its idyllic setting in Palm Springs, the sun-kissed festival was forced to abandon its 2020 edition due to the impact of COVID-19. The fest typically occurs over two weekends in June and August, but after organizers had to pull the plug on the June 2021 edition, they’ve opted for the fest to return on consecutive weekends in August: 13-15 and 20-22, respectively. Liverpool given go-ahead for Anfield expansion
Liverpool have been given the go-ahead to expand Anfield by around 7,000 seats, taking the total capacity at their historic stadium to more than 61,000. City council planners voted in favour of the redevelopment of the Anfield Road Stand on Tuesday, despite concerns expressed by residents and environmental groups about the impact on nearby Stanley Park.
