Porter Robinson Announces Return of Second Sky Music Festival and Dates
Nearly two years ago, electronic music wunderkind Porter Robinson held his inaugural Second Sky Music Festival in Oakland, California and received rave reviews for his performances under his main alias and Virtual Self project. In the time since, as the world crumbled under lockdown due to safety measures surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Robinson hosted two streaming iterations of the festival, cleverly coined Secret Sky. NAFDAC alerts Nigerians on effects of hair products containing formaldehyde
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians against the use of hair smoothing products containing formaldehyde. The agency says the U.S Food and Drug Administration has informed it of the short and long-term effects of formaldehyde exposure in hair smoothing products. The alert, No: 006/2021 – Formaldehyde in Hair Smoothing Products, was signed by the Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, and issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday. It said most hair smoothing or straightening products release formaldehyde gas, a known human carcinogen, as classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, into the air during hair straightening or smoothing. Earlier this month Electric Forest organizers released a critical update about the fate of the 2021 edition of the beloved Rothbury music festival. Addressing the uncertainty of the pandemic, they stated that if the event were to happen this year, it would be in August, offering a glimmer of hope for prospective festival-goers. Burning Man Organizers Backpedal After Criticism for Mandatory Vaccination Comments
After falsely claiming that the state of Nevada requires proof of vaccination at large-scale events, the organizers of Burning Man have backpedaled and addressed concerns from the festival’s community.
