Norwegian rock trio Spielbergs were set to have a massive 2020. After their 2019 debut LP This is Not the End received some rave reviews, the band was scheduled to hit the road in Europe over the summer, complete with an appearance at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival. Of course, everyone’s 2020 plans were diverted and postponed, but luckily, Spielbergs maintained their spot on Mad Cool’s 2022 lineup, which features Metallica, Florence + The Machine, The Killers, Jack White, Glass Animals, Muse, Alt-J, The War On Drugs, Carly Rae Jepsen, CHVRCHES, Nathy Peluso, and many, many more. Dethklok and Run the Jewels Top the Bill for 2022 Adult Swim Festival Block Party
The mighty Dethklok will return to the stage at the 2022 Adult Swim Festival Block Party, which is being staged on the East Coast for the first time. The three day event is taking place August 5th through 7th in Philadelphia, and will also headlining performances from Run the Jewels and Tierra Whack. Dethklok, of course, are everyone’s favorite band from the beloved Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse. While the series was canceled back in 2013, just last year it was announced that a new Metalocalypse movie is in development. Brendon Small, the creator of Metalocalypse and musical mastermind behind Dethklok, will lead the live band. Coachella’s organizers have undoubtedly been busy: in a season marred with last minute cancellations, controversies, and inevitable left turns, Paul Tollett and Goldenvoice have definitely been putting in some overtime hours. 2022 Welcome to Rockville Festival Taps Nine Inch Nails to Replace Foo Fighters as Sunday Headliner
Following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters canceled all of their scheduled 2022 tour dates. One of those dates was a headlining gig at the upcoming Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Today (April 6th), organizers announced that Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters on the Sunday (May 22nd) lineup of the four-day fest. It’s the second such announcement of the day, as Boston Calling revealed this morning that NIN would be filling in for Foo Fighters on the first night (May 27th) of its three-day lineup. The addition of Nine Inch Nails creates a triumvirate of early ’90s alt-rock legends at the top of Welcome to Rockville’s Sunday bill, with The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction playing right before NIN. After previously announcing the four headliners — KISS, Korn, Guns N’ Roses, and Foo Fighters — organizers of the 2022 Welcome to Rockville festival have now revealed the full lineup. More than 65 acts, including The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, Ministry, Rise Against, Megadeth, and more, make up the bill for the four-day event, taking place May 19th-22nd at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
