Justin Lin to Direct Live-Action Film Adaptation of One-Punch Man
Sony Pictures have landed on Justin Lin as the director for their long-awaited One-Punch Man live-action film adaptation. The former Fast and Furious director joins Jumanji: The Next Level and Venom writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner on the project. One-Punch Man debuted as a webcomic by Japanese artist ONE back in 2009. The story follows Saitama, a superhero who, bored by his ability to defeat any enemy with a single punch, seeks out a worthy opponent. It was published as a manga in 2012 with illustrations by Yusuke Murata before hitting the US market in 2015. Since then, it’s been adapted into an anime series as well as video and mobile games. Joker 2: Lady Gaga in Talks to Play Harley Quinn in Musical Sequel
Big news regarding the Joker sequel Todd Phillips teased last week: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joker 2 is going to be a musical, and Lady Gaga is in talks to join Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn. While the report doesn’t say much about what a musical Joker would look like, it does make sense to cast the singer in such a project. THR says that neither Gaga nor Phoenix have been completely secured for the sequel, which, according to the script cover Phillips posted to Instagram, is called Joker: Folie à Deux. With the much-anticipated sequel to 2019’s Knives Out expected out later this year, writer and director Rian Johnson has revealed its title: Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
