It looks like the Oscars may not let Tom Holland host this year’s ceremony. Instead, according to Page Six, the Academy is eyeing Pete Davidson to be the award show’s first host since 2018. Oscars officials have toyed with the idea of this year’s show having multiple hosts, and they’ve also thrown around big names like Dwayne Johnson and Chris Rock. Evan Rachel Wood Documentary Exploring Marilyn Manson Abuse Allegations Added to Sundance
Phoenix Rising, a new documentary about Evan Rachel Wood that chronicles the abuse allegations leveled against Marilyn Manson, has been added to the lineup of Sundance Film Festival 2022. As Variety reports, the film is directed by Amy Berg (Deliver Us from Evil, The Case Against Adnan Syed), and will arrive on HBO in two parts later this year. Wood dated Manson from about 2006 to 2010. Afterwards, without mentioning names, she became a vocal advocate for victims of domestic violence, using her own story to help push through California’s Phoenix Act in 2019. On February 1st, 2021, she accused Manson of committing those abuses in a social media post, saying he “started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.” Manson has denied the allegations. ...

Pig Director Michael Sarnoski to Helm Third A Quiet Place Movie
Pig director and writer Michael Sarnoski is going from the touching, delicate drama of his breakout film to the sci-fi horror of the A Quiet Place franchise. As first reported by Deadline, Sarnoski is in negotiations to take over the film, which is being described as more of a spinoff than a sequel. Jeff Nichols (Mud, Midnight Special) was previously attached to write and direct the currently untitled project, but left in October to focus on a different sci-fi movie. John Krasinksi wrote, directed, and starred in the first two Quiet Place installments, but neither he nor Emily Blunt is expected to reprise their acting roles. Kanye West stans will have the opportunity to catch part of the documentary jeen-yuhs in theaters ahead of its arrival on Netflix. Today, the streamer revealed fans will be able to attend a nationwide preview of the project titled Act 1 (Vision) on February 10th for one day only. Warner Bros. Reveals Closer Look at The Riddler and Penguin From The Batman
Superhero flicks are notoriously shrouded in mystery prior to release, but as Matt Reeves’ The Batman approaches its March 4th premiere, more details about the film have begun to emerge. Over the weekend, Warner Bros. shared new photos from the film, including closer looks at two of Batman’s biggest foes, Paul Dano’s Riddler and Colin Farrell’s Penguin. Dano’s Riddler gives off a Zodiac-killer vibe in this Batman adaptation, dressed head to toe in army green and covered up with a terrifying mask Penguin, meanwhile, maintains his classic purple suit.
