LG to Quit the Manufacturing and Sales of Smartphones

LG has announced that it is closing its loss-making mobile business unit – a decision approved by the board of directors. The tech company says this will allow it to “focus resources in growth areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, artificial intelligence and business-to-business solutions, as well as platforms and services”.
