Three More Game of Thrones Spinoffs in Development at HBO
HBO is developing three additional Game of Thrones spinoffs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Two of the prequels have the working titles of 9 Voyages and 10,000 Ships, respectively. 9 Voyages is centered around Lord Corlys Velaryon, a.k.a. The Sea Snake, the Lord of the Tides and head of House Velaryon. Velaryon also appears in the previously announced House of the Dragon, in which he’s played by Steve Toussaint. 10,000 Ships is about warrior queen Princess Nymeria, an ancestor of House Martell who founded the kingdom of Dorne. Two characters in the original series, Sand Snake Nymeria Sand and Arya’s direwolf, bore her name. Her story is set roughly 1,000 years before Game of Thrones, so it takes place way before the Westeros timeline than any of the other previously announc...
Tom Morello Tapped as Executive Music Producer for Upcoming Netflix Film Metal Lords
Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello is set to serve as the executive music producer for the upcoming Netflix film Metal Lords, due out later this year. The film is also the first feature-length project in a partnership between Netflix and Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff. A brief press release described Metal Lords as a “coming-of-age comedy” with a plot synopsis many young metalheads can relate to: “Two kids want to start a heavy metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about heavy metal.” Metal Lords is written and co-produced by Weiss and will be directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist). Game of Thrones’ Esmé Bianco Calls Marilyn Manson a “Monster Who Almost Destroyed Me”
Esmé Bianco, who played the character of Ros on Game of Thrones, has accused Marilyn Manson of abuse, going as far to describe him as a “monster who almost destroyed me.” The British actress’ claims come a week after Manson’s former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood and four other women alleged that too they were abused by the shock rocker. In a tell-all interview with New York magazine’s The Cut, Bianco details a tumultuous relationship with Manson. Animated Game of Thrones Series in the Works at HBO Max
The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros may be getting drawn anew — and we’re not talking about maps. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that an animated Game of Thrones series is being developed for HBO Max. While the dramatic cartoon is only in the very earliest of stages, WarnerMedia is apparently already in talks with writers about the potential series. THR notes the plan is to make the show “similar in tone to HBO’s Emmy-winning flagship” live-action series. HBO has crowned the king of its upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paddy Considine will play King Viserys Targaryen. Madeon tagged both Headey and Williams in the tweet, writing, “I have a surprise for you tomorrow!” while sharing a cryptic image of what appears to be Williams floating in an animated neon sky. Back in December 2019, a report by Bustle indicated that the Game of Thrones actors were collaborating on a music video with Madeon, with Headey directing and Williams starring.
