Bungie Will Ban ‘Destiny 2’ Players Who Try To Run It on the Steam Deck

With some of the luckier gamers already receiving their Steam Deck from Valve, many have started trying out different games on the new handheld platform, but it seems like Sony‘s recent purchase Bungie isn’t too fond of the idea. Over on the game’s official help page, the developer explained that Destiny 2 is not supported on the Steam Deck’s Linux-based SteamOS, and it most likely never will given what the company said next. “Players who attempt to launch Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck through SteamOS or Proton will be unable to enter the game and will be returned to their game library after a short time,” it stated. “Players who attempt to bypass Destiny 2 incompatibility will be met with a game ban.” Bungie hasn’t explained why it has taken such a hostile approach to the game being pl...

Potential Release Date for ‘God of War: Ragnarok’ Surfaces

Following the launch of Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West, the next big title everyone is looking forward to is no doubt God of War: Ragnarok, and now a potential release window for the highly anticipated sequel has leaked. According to new reports, a video game retailer in Chile has accidentally listed the game on its website with a release window expected for June of this year, contrary to what many insiders believed would be a holiday season launch at the end of the year. Of course, while various games over the year had experienced similar leaks from other retailers that ended up to be accurate, there’s an equal chance the Chilean store had simply made a mistake, so fans should still take this news with a grain of salt. As usual, Sony and PlayStation have yet to confi...

Now available, the short game will center around lead character KK, a detective investigating a series of strange events half a year before the time of the actual game itself. The developer hopes to give players a better understanding of who KK is and why he does what he does, which it says will help when you’re playing the full Ghostwire: Tokyo. “There’s a different, kind of more relaxed atmosphere in the visual novel,” scenario writer Takahiro Kaji said in a Sony PlayStation blog post. “KK is a veteran, accustomed to the situation, working within his realm of expertise and there’s good teamwork with Rinko’s group. ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG” Player Shares Quick Fix for Restoring Warped Cards

A Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG player has just taken to Twitter to share a quick fix for bent trading cards. Trading card game players who live in humid or dry areas may notice the bending of their cards in different directions if their collection is not stored in an airtight container. While this technique does not fix creased cards, it does restore warped cards back to their original flat form. Tetora instructs TCG players with bent cards to first place a soaked tissue or sponge in a small jar then place that jar into a Tupperware container. Next, while making sure you do not get the cards wet, place the cards in the same container, and close the lid. After a day or two, the cards will be restored. For cards that are inversely bent, simply replace the wet paper with a desiccant bag. 山反りのカードを私は...

Finding Community and Black Representation in Video Games

While the gaming industry has experienced record-breaking sales over the course of the pandemic — valued at up to $175 billion USD as of last year — minority representation in the space has lagged behind its explosive growth. A survey conducted in 2021 by the International Game Developers Association found that only 4% of game developers in the United States identify as Black. “We saw the highest numbers ever for respondents who felt that diversity was important, yet 74% said there is not equal treatment and opportunity for everyone within our industry,” the survey reads. Due to a lack of representation within the industry, Black protagonists in video games coming out of major studios are few and far between. And when Black characters are depicted, their representations are often stereotyp...
