After a flurry of mobile games and some more fleshed-out RPGs from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics, Marvel Comics is finally diving into the MMO world. The news came from an investor presentation by Dimensional Ink, the same developer behind DC Comics’s own MMORPG DC Universe Online. Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a free-to-play battle royale combat game for mobile designed by Tetsuya Nomura from Square Enix, has been released globally, generating over one million downloads in just two days following its debut. The new Final Fantasy game is set in Midgar three decades before the events of Final Fantasy VII,  back in the beginnings of the Shinra Corporation’s SOLDIER program, so the show’s recognizable characters won’t be available. As shown in the video down below, renowned Twitch streamer Douglas “DougisRaw” Wolf recorded his own gameplay during an online match. A new crossover between Fortnite and Marvel could be in the works. According to reports, Epic Games recently hotfixed the set name “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” which refers to Nick Fury’s organization. Fans further point out that the addition of the set name in the Fortnite code arrives just in time for the premiere of Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld’s Hawkeye series, prompting the idea that players could receive Hawkeye and Kate Bishop skins in the Item Store in a few days. Wizards of the Coast has unveiled two upcoming Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair card drops in partnership with Riot Games. The collaboration celebrates the upcoming release of Riot Games’ new Netflix series Arcane, a prequel to the League of Legends game. Available for streaming on Netflix now, Arcane, which took six years to make the first season of, follows two sisters pitted against one another as they fight on opposite sides of a dystopian war. The game developer is currently working on the second season of the animated series, Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent recently shared. Dragon Ball‘s new asymmetrical survival game The Breakers will be launching its closed beta test soon. Just like other games in the genre, Dragon Ball: The Breakers pits one central villain known as the Raider against seven Survivors who will try to fight for their lives and ultimately escape from the mysterious dimensional plane they’re trapped in called a Temporal Seam. To get away, the Survivors will have to find the Super Time Machine while delaying the Raider’s onslaught through collecting different weapons, vehicles, and upgrades throughout the map.
