HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Activision / Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War When Activision usually announces the latest Call of Duty season update, gamers are usually excited to prospect for new features coming to the game. Still, it comes with the huge caveat that it’s going to eat up all of your hard drive space. This latest update looks to tackle that troublesome issue. As part of its Call of Duty season 2 reloaded update, Treyarch announced it would be reducing the overall file size of both Warzone and Modern Warfare across various platforms by more than 30GB and over 10GB. This news will come as a relief to Call of Duty fans who have seemingly have to constantly figure out what games they need to delete to free up space for massive updates. The latest update, whic...
This story was co-authored with Amanda Montgomery and Hannah O. Following the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the gaming economy exploded as people searched for new forms of entertainment. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the global gaming market reached a value of $174.9 billion in 2020, representing a 19.6% year-over-year increase. John Vitti, CEO of VersusGame, noticed that despite this growth, the prediction marketplace was still waiting to be fully tapped into. Eagle-eyed fans have caught sight of Daft Punk appearing in a print ad for Nintendo’s upcoming video game title, Splatoon 3. The ad appeared in CoroCoro, a Japanese Manga magazine, and features a shot of the forthcoming title on a television. It’s the surrounding decor, however, that particularly caught our eye. Standing up against the bottom left of the TV stand is a flyer for Daft Punk Airlines, which prominently features the dance music duo dressed in shorts and tropical shirts. The slogan “Around The World” is also seen on the flyer, no doubt a head nod to the duo’s groundbreaking 90s hit by the same name. Another Splatoon 3 ad in the magazine depicts a paint streak trailing off far into the distance amid a barren desert l...
A few years ago, during the days of the battle royale wars, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite competed for the attention of gamers around the world. While the latter of the duo is more known for their dance music crossovers, on Sunday, developers of the mobile version of PUBG brought out a medley of EDM artists for their 3rd-anniversary livestream celebration. Joining professional gamers and streamers for the broadcast were Alesso, R3HAB, and Lost Frequencies. Each artist laid down a set and then competed with prominent figures in the game’s community. As a special treat to viewers, each artist also premiered a new song during their performance. While they didn’t perform at the event, K-pop fans were excited to see that BLACKPINK recorded a speci...
Even before concerts were forced online due to the ongoing pandemic, Epic Games‘ flagship title, Fortnite, was hosting full-scale events. After a groundbreaking performance from Marshmello in 2019, they would go on to invite Travis Scott, J Balvin, BTS, deadmau5, and more to the virtual stage. Now, celebrating his recent crossover with Epic Games’ recently-acquired title, Rocket League, Kaskade is primed for an in-game performance. Seemingly due to the nature of the games themselves, the event will not actually take place in the Rocket League application, but rather in the world of Fortnite and the Houseparty app. However, this does not mean there won’t be tons of rocket-powered car soccer elements included. Organizers promise a show that wil...
