The first-person sci-fi game combines open world and MMO into a highly customizable adventure that offers the opportunity to craft one’s own identity and skill set and develop specialized abilities or be a jack of all trades. Players will begin their journey in the vivid and deadly landscape of the planet Arrakis. From canyons to villages to seemingly endless deserts, they’ll be able to explore the planet on their mission to not only survive, but rise to power. Riot Games is suing Chinese technology company NetEase over its alleged copycat version of Valorant, Law360 reported. Riot is claiming that NetEase’s mobile title Hyper Front rips off Valorant’s game maps, weapon designs, characters, charms and other elements. Hyper Front is a free-to-play first-person shooter that pits teams of five against one another in a variety of modes. The game debuted in 2022, roughly two years after Riot launched Valorant. Per the report, Riot says NetEase began development of Hyper Front shortly after an early version of Valorant dubbed “Project A” was revealed in late 2019. Japanese video game developer, Bandai Namco, has released a new trailer for Tekken 8. The reveal trailer for the renowned fighting game surfaced this past September – teasing Kazuya Mishima’s return via a battle between him and his son, Jin Kazama. Whereas the reveal trailer got fans excited just with the announcement alone, the new trailer offers a closer look at the story and gameplay of the forthcoming title. Set to be a family reunion, the trailer showcases a continuation of the saga between the Mishima and Kazama families and reveals even more of what’s to come from their high-energy battles. Riot Games is bringing League of Legends to Xbox Game Pass. The game studio first teased that it would be rolling out titles to the Pass in June and has now given its subscribers a concrete date for when they’ll be able to access some of their favorite titles. On Monday, December 12, Game Pass will debut League of Legends, Valorant and Legends of Runeterra, as well as a few other titles. Players will have full access to League of Legends on PC with all 162 champions unlocked and will also receive a 20% XP bonus. Valorant will come with all 18 agents unlocked and its own 20% boost for Battle Pass, Event Pass and active Agent Contract. On Thursday, the Federal Trade Commission announced it is suing to block Microsoft‘s $69 billion USD acquisition of Activision Blizzard, citing that the deal would “enable Microsoft to suppress competitors to its Xbox gaming consoles and its rapidly growing subscription content and cloud-gaming business.” Earlier this week, Microsoft declared a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo if the merger successfully closes in an effort to appease federal regulators.
