One of Web3’s leading digital property rights developers, Animoca Brands, announced yet another major acquisition to its increasing portfolio of gaming subsidiaries. Activision Announces ‘Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’ Release Date and ‘Warzone Mobile’

During a showcase for the future of Call of Duty, Activision noted how Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 will mark a change in the franchise. The developer highlighted the focus on cross-progression and shared IW engine technology of MWII releasing October 28 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, now announced to be released November 16. EA is cracking down on cheaters with the launch of a new anti-cheat and anti-tamper solution. Coming first to FIFA 23 on PC, EA AntiCheat (EAAC) is a kernel-mode system that will make it virtually impossible for cheat techniques to infiltrate. For those unfamiliar with the term, ‘kernel-mode’ refers to a central processing operating system that has direct access to all aspects of hardware. Kernel-mode protection is capable of detecting cheats that are largely invisible to other anti-cheat solutions. Flickr Introduces Virtual Photography Category For Video Game Screenshots

Flickr is now introducing a new “Virtual Photography” category for those who snap images in video games to express their art. The platform currently offers three separate categories: photography, illustration and screenshots, but Flickr says it doesn’t feel like video game shots fit into the last category particularly well, and so it decided to open up a new segment for that type of content. “By putting your work into one of these categories, you can use filters to limit your search results by interest,” the platform explained in a blog post. “For instance, virtual photographers will be able to filter by ‘virtual photography’ while conducting site-wide searches if they only want to see that kind of work, while avoiding real-world photography or other art and illustration.” The move probabl...
