Tesla Will Soon Integrate Steam on Its Vehicles

CEO Elon Musk recently took to Twitter to reveal that Tesla will soon be integrating Steam onto its vehicles, with a demo to “probably” come next month. For months, Tesla has planned to enter into the video games business. The company has been working on a video game platform called Tesla Arcade for a while, with a dedicated team in Seattle entirely focused on working on video games. At the moment, Tesla already offers a wide variety of games. However, introducing integration with Steam would allow users to access many more games — a feature seemingly possible with the introduction of AMD‘s Ryzen processor and a discrete AMD RDNA 2 GPU, introduced with the newer Model X and S vehicles. This would not only be a game changer for the automobile industry but would set Tesla apart from competit...

‘Stray’ Taps Travel Cat for a Special Edition Cat Carrier Backpack

In celebration of the upcoming release of Annapurna Interactive‘s Stray — a game where you explore beautifully atmospheric environments as a cat —  the studio has now teamed up with pet accessory maker Travel Cat to launch a special edition cat carrier backpack as well as leash and harness. The backpack itself comes predominantly in black with streaks of pink, yellow, and blue that draw inspiration from the game’s cyberpunk setting. The center of the compartment features a large domed window for your cat to look through as you journey through the streets while an upper opening allows easy access. Of course, there are also three breathing holes and the bag itself will support up to 25 pounds in weight. As for the harness and leash, the set comes in a simple black tone with a refle...

Digital Extremes Teases New Free-to-Play MMO ‘Soulframe’

Digital Extremes — makers of Warframe — have just teased its latest project called Soulframe. This free-to-play MMO will focus on heavy and slow melee combat combined with a story involving humans intertwined with the natural world with themes of “nature, restoration, and exploration.” And while the team has pointed to Princess Mononok and The NeverEnding Story as inspiration, they did emphasize that the “Soul” in Soulframe does not mean that it will try to replicate the direction of From Software’s Souls series (Elden Ring). Steve Sinclair of Digital Extremes told Washington Post, “I think it certainly isn’t an inspiration for the initial ideas or what we wanted to do. Ironically, other titles that were maybe borrowing from Warframe might have been some sort of reverse influence. But Elde...

Sony Officially Acquires Bungie

The deal has officially been done. Sony, and its PlayStation division, have just closed on the Bungie acquisition that was proposed back in January. An SEC filing puts the deal in the $3.7 billion USD range where Bungie will now fall under the Sony Entertainment Network, but will continue to operate independently. While not as big as Microsoft’s announcement to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion USD, Sony feels confident in this move and has excitedly released the news over Twitter. Fans are pointing out that, while Bungie’s main IP Destiny is not exclusive, the acquisition brings the expertise of multiplayer games from the video game company to Sony. Check out the announcement below. The agreement to acquire Bungie has closed. So now we can officially say… welcome to the PlaySt...

Hasbro Has Created a ‘Wordle’ Board Game

After taking the Internet by storm at the beginning of the year, Wordle quickly became one of the world’s most popular mini-games, and now Hasbro has created a physical board game version of it that you can play with friends and family. Aptly named Wordle: The Party Game, the new board game basically functions identically as its digital counterpart, with players attempting to guess a five-letter word with six tries. Unlike the original, however, Hasbro’s experience will allow you and your friends to pick a host at the beginning of each round, who’ll write down the secret word everyone has to guess. Point scoring works reversely, so those who need fewer attempts to guess each word will score fewer points, and the player with the least points by the end of the game wins. To spice t...

Time to accumulate? 5 sectors to watch during crypto winter

It’s weird to think that anyone could look forward to downturns in the crypto market, but that is precisely the position held by many developers and project creators who enjoy the low-pressure environment that exists during a bear market.  As the saying goes, bear markets are for building, and now is one of the best times to survey the landscape to see which sectors of the market are most active in designing the platforms that will soar to new heights in the next bull cycle. Here’s a look at five sectors of the blockchain ecosystem that may present some of the best opportunities for accumulation while prices are low and demand is non-existent. Layer-1 protocols Layer-1 (L1) protocols like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) form the foundation that much of the cryptocurrency ecosystem is...

‘Skate’ Will be Free-to-Play and Offer Cross-Play

In a new “The Board Room” interview, three central figures behind the upcoming game Skate, previously referred to as Skate 4, sit down to discuss important updates surrounding the highly-anticipated title. Here to shed light on the fourth game from the beloved franchise is Cuz Parry, one of the creative directors of the game, Isabelle Mocquard, head of product management at EA, and Dan McCulloch, General Manager of new Vancouver-based game studio Full Circle. One of the biggest updates that the conversation touched on is the introduction of a free-to-play model for the very first time. While that will mean microtransactions will be part of the game, the board members ensure that it will not be pay-to-win. There are no areas of the map that will be locked behind a paywall, no paid loot boxe...
