Hanoi Rocks Guitarist: Vince Neil Never Apologized for Car Crash That Killed Band’s Drummer
Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy says he’s never received an apology from Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil, whose infamous 1984 car crash resulted in the death of the band’s drummer, Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley. Neil was driving his car when he and Dingley went on a liquor run in Redondo Beach, California, in December 1984. On the way back, the Mötley Crüe vocalist crashed into another vehicle, killing Dingley and leaving both occupants of the other car with brain damage. Neil, who had a .17 blood-alcohol level, ended up spending 15 days in jail for the incident and was ordered to pay $2.6 million to the victims of the crash. 2023 Monsters of Rock Cruise Lineup: Tesla, Mac Sabbath, Queensrÿche, and More
The lineup for the 2023 Monsters of Rock Cruise has been announced, featuring ’80s hard rock and metal acts like Tesla, Queensrÿche, Winger, and Extreme, along with newer outfits like Mac Sabbath (the McDonald’s-themed Black Sabbath cover band), Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, and more. Tommy Lee’s Wife Reveals How the Drummer Broke His Ribs Leading Up to Mötley Crüe’s Reunion Tour
Tommy Lee surprised fans earlier this month at the kickoff show of Mötley Crüe’s current reunion tour when he exited his drum kit after five songs, telling the audience that he had recently broken four ribs. He’s only been playing three or four songs at each date, with Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos taking over for the rest of the set each time. It took Mötley Crüe six and a half years to return to the stage, but drummer Tommy Lee only lasted five songs during the band’s reunion tour kickoff in Atlanta on Thursday night (June 16th). Lee explained from the stage that he recently had broken his ribs and that he wouldn’t be able to continue the concert. Jeff LaBar, longtime guitarist of the glam metal band Cinderella, has died at age of 58. LaBar’s son, Sebastian, shared the news of his father’s passing in a social media post on Wednesday (via Blabbermouth). “So i just got the call… Jeff LaBar, my father, my hero, my idol, passed away today,” Sebastian wrote, “I’m currently at a loss for words. I love you pop.” A cause of death was not disclosed. LaBar joined Cinderella in 1985 right as the band hit the studio to record their debut album, Night Songs.
