There’s no doubt that 2021 was a turbulent year for our hair. We spent the first few months trying our hardest to manage our strands at home after going a really long time without a salon appointment. And when we finally did get the chance to sit down in front of a hairdresser, we had a whole lot of damage on our hands. Despite having big plans for our hair last year, in reality, we spent most of 2021 trying to get our strands fighting fit after many, many months of neglect. But as we ring in the New Year, we’re feeling pretty confident that 2022 will be the year for hair. To get some sort of idea of the sorts of hair trends that will be popular this year, we reached out to some of the top hairstylists in the game. So, whether you’re tempted to chop all of your ha...
When it comes to Gen Z’s penchant for beauty, one thing that certainly can’t be disputed is how beneficial it has been for the industry. Gen Z champion a sort of carefree revolt against the beauty ideals that have held every generation before them to impossible standards. They celebrate natural skin and hair textures, welcome what were once considered daring trends with open arms and, let’s face it, elevated Y2K beauty looks way beyond what we millennials did the first time around. One area that I feel as though Gen Z don’t get enough credit for within beauty, however, is their trendsetting hair colours. Over the past few years, we have seen a huge uplift in variety of choice when it comes to our hair colour, and this is in large part thanks to Gen Z. Forget balayage blonde, bloc...

If you had your colour done by a professional in salon, I promise you it’s always better to go back to the salon to correct things. They’ll know the formulas needed to balance the tones and how to effectively strip the previous colour if needed, without causing irreparable damage. Hair colour will always fade over time even done professionally due to environmental and styling damage that can occur, so make sure you top your colour up by using a colour conditioner or clear gloss every few washes alongside your care regimen. “There are multiple things you can do at home if you’re not happy with your colour between appointments,” says Tyson Grant, Owner and Creative Director at Forbici Knightsbridge. He recommends the Moroccanoil colour care range to his clients for at-home care. “We als...
Every year without fail, I get an urge to wear super long extensions. Maybe it’s because I can’t seem to grow my hair longer than chest length myself but I love to clip-in extra length every now and again. However, despite a slight extension addiction, the styles that I always come back to are the medium length bob hairstyles. This length is so easy to manage, suits most face shapes and hair textures too. It’s no wonder the length is so popular really. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. If you ask us, switching up your hair colour is always a good idea, but there’s something about this time of year in particular—just clear of all that new year pressure and a hint of spring optimism on the horizon—that just feels right. But where to begin when it comes to switching-up your hue? While a trending haircut or at-home box dye might feel non-committal, there’s something about taking the plunge with a brand new colour that always feels a little risky. So, to help alleviate any hair colour nerves, we called on 5 of the biggest experts in the business to share their predictions for the biggest hair colour trends of 2022. And good news—there really is a colour for everyone this year. Classic colours like blonde and brunette are given a new year update while exper...
When I went natural, I completely missed the point of curl creams. I was applying it super liberally (to pretty much dry hair) and expecting it to hold my coils in whatever style I had coiffed it into. This is wrong for all curl types, not just my thick and highly porous strands. Curl creams can transform in purpose depending on your hair thickest (and how weighed down it can feel) and curl tightness. Thicker tighter curls can benefit from using a curl cream to elongate coils if you so wish. Dry curls can benefit from the high water content to replenish hydration before sealing in with an oil while loose, fine curls can rake curl cream through wet hair to aid with definition. Honestly, the more I write about and use curl products, the more I realise that despite me relying heavily on ...
I’m forever raving about the importance of a healthy scalp. It’s key to hair growth and prevention of hair loss and can be burned or hit with skin conditions just like our face can. As someone that suffers from eczema, I’m well aware of flare-ups occurring on the scalp and I have to stay on top of my game with my scalp care. Luckily, in recent years, this has become even easier with scalp products to exfoliate, calm and soothe using skincare ingredients I’m super aware of the likes of lactic, glycolic, and salicylic acids on the ingredients line-up in the hair aisle for gentle to advanced exfoliation of dead skin cells on the scalp. And it doesn’t stop at the root—ingredients like hyaluronic acid aid in moisture attraction, glycerin with moisture retention, and vitamin C with shi...

One thing that’s key to note when styling with a diffuser, is that I found that part air-drying to about 50% (so damp to touch) and then using a diffuser has given me the best results for twist-out and braid-out styles. If you are applying product to clump curls or have used the ‘denman brush method’ to define, make sure your curls are damp but not dripping when you reach for your diffuser for the best outcome. To avoid frizz and heat damage, no matter which diffuser you pick, make sure you stick to the lowest heat and power settings. Yes, it will take a little longer to dry but the outcome will be shinier and healthier in the long run. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Here at Who What Wear UK, we’ve dedicated huge amounts of time to digging out the best cuts, colours, styles and products—from hair-thickening shampoos to volume-boosting powders—to enable thin hair types to get thicker-looking strands fast. However, while I often get lots of questions about quick fixes to fake bigger hair, I’m here for those of you who already have naturally thick locks too. After all, people with plentiful strands have their own set of hair challenges—styling it can take a long time, tangles are par for the course, and finding a genuinely low-maintenance cut can be tricky. As someone with thicker hair myself, I always have a folder full of hair inspiration ready to go for my next cut at the...
Hands up if you have been scarred by a chopstick styler? The thinnest kind of wand is the most confusing tool to use because the finished result can vary from perfect loose waves to ’70s disco hair to tight coils, and the factors that lead to the end result are vast. So that’s why, when the latest GHD drop, the Thin Wand, landed in my lap ahead of its launch, I was dubious about what the finished result was going to look like on me. Last time I used a thin wand, my hair was shoulder-length and bluntly cut. The end result was a super-voluminous lob that showcased the best bit about my natural hair: the texture. Now, though still natural, I’m currently wearing my hair straight with super-long extensions, and I was interested to see just how this type of wand worked for really ...
