She’s baaack! Megan Thee Stallion is getting into the Halloween spirit with some spooky new jack-o’-lantern photos. The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media on Saturday (Oct. 1) to continue her tradition of posing with a carved pumpkin on her head ahead of Halloween on Oct. 31. In this year’s new set of sinister pics, Megan is seen relaxing around the house in pink silk pajamas while sipping on a fruity cocktail, all while wearing a bright orange pumpkin with hallowed out pointy eyes, an upside triangle nose, and a mouth with jagged teeth. When you think of haunts (seasonal events held during the fall months based around scaring attendees), you often don’t think of musicians. In the rare cases where you do, perhaps you think of heavy metal or rock artists, as their music can often bring up images of horror in your mind. But horror has influenced all sorts of different genres, from pop with Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” video to rap through the imagery described in songs by Flatbush Zombies and XXXTentacion. Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, has never kept his love for the genre a secret, but it has taken center stage with the rollout of his blockbuster 2020 album, After Hours. While the music itself might not sound particularly scary, it is his accompanying visuals that have showcased his love for horror; a cursory glance ...
Is it even Halloween without RL Grime? The trap music star’s eerie-sistible Halloween mix series has become a staple of his storied career, annually enrapturing fans with a curated tape of spellbinding bangers and unreleased music from his venerated Sable Valley label. Grime has now announced “Halloween: Dead Space,” a concert where fans can experience the mix live. “Halloween: Dead Space” marks the second time Grime will debut his annual mix in a live setting after last year’s spine-chilling inaugural edition, which dazzled fans with a live visual spectacle complete with a zombie outbreak. He’ll now give ’em pumpkin to talk about with the show’s hotly anticipated return, scheduled for October 27th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. ...
Not all parents will have the opportunity to dress their children for Playboy Magazine, but we can all aspire to be as supportive — literally and figuratively — as Keanu Reeves’ mom Patricia Taylor. A costume designer, Taylor created the bustier that held in Dolly Parton on her iconic Playboy magazine cover, and as Reeves revealed in a new appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, after Parton was done with it, he wore it for Halloween. The episode of Red Table Talk served as a Matrix reunion. Smith appeared in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions alongside Reeves, and they were joined for the conversation by Reeves’ The Matrix Resurrections costars Carrie-Anne Moss and Priyanka Chopra Jonas....
Cityfox Halloween took an unexpected turn this year. Featuring prominent artists like Dubfire, Lee Burridge, and John Digweed, the event was set to take over Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner for a two-day house and techno music festival. However, citing electrical issues, event organizers canceled the second day right around the start of the show. The first day, which took place on October 29th, welcomed swarms of party-goers to the urban music festival with Nora En Pure, Hot Since 82, and Vintage Culture among the lineup. Avant Gardner’s sprawling, 80,000-square foot event space was transformed into a five-stage, Halloween-themed extravaganza. The Great Hall, Avant Gardner’s largest indoor space, was morphed into “The Great Hell” with skull-adorned chandeliers, a dazzling array of LED lighting fi...
RL Grime‘s “Halloween X” show was a “quantum anomaly” to remember. At least, that’s how renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson labeled it. The planetary scientist, author, and host of Cosmos joined the ranks of surprise celebrity guests—including T-Pain and Guy Fieri—in delivering a particularly ominous introduction on behalf of Grime at last night’s “Halloween X Live” performance. “It is your turn to fight off goblins and ghouls as we merge with a cosmic force I have never before encountered.” Tyson warned. “A space time irregularity that leaves me no choice but to summon another guide, a celestial being known for his mystic composition of dark frequencies. We don’t have a name for him in the sc...
