The memoir will be released on October 19th via Hachette Books. “You’ve heard the tales of excess and debauchery,” stated Sixx in a press release. “All the peaks and the valleys that came with rock and roll stardom and my life in one of the world’s biggest bands. This is the story that you haven’t heard. The one that led up to those stories.” He continued, “It’s the intimate, personal story of how an innocent Idaho farm boy with a burning dream and desire — for music, for love, and for fame — became the notorious Nikki Sixx. Deftones’ Chino Moreno Joins HEALTH and Tyler Bates on New Song “Anti-Life”: Stream

HEALTH and composer-musician Tyler Bates have shared the new collaborative song “Anti-Life” featuring Deftones singer Chino Moreno. The track is the latest single from the forthcoming Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack from DC Comics and Loma Vista Recordings. The electro-industrial intensity of HEALTH combined with the cinematic sheen of Bates’ production makes “Anti-Life” an aural powerhouse. The sheer sound and fidelity is jaw-dropping. Topping it off are pristine vocals by Moreno, whose singing always works well in an electro/experimental context. Like the previous singles we’ve heard from the soundtrack — including Mastodon’s “Forged by Neron” and Chelsea Wolfe’s “Diana”, “Anti-Life” is inspired by the storyline of DC’s Dark Nights: Death Metal comic series. In the third issue o...

Kid Rock Uses Homophobic Slur to Address Video of Him Using Homophobic Slur

Kid Rock has released a statement addressing the recent video of him using a homophobic slur at a Tennessee bar. And this time he has blatantly spelled out the very same offensive term, in case there was any mistaking that it was part of his vocabulary. The singer was caught on camera this past Saturday at the FishLipz Bar & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee, ranting about people filming him with their smartphones, at one point screaming, “You f**king f**gots with your phones out.” Posting on the official Kid Rock Twitter account under his real name, Bob Ritchie, and referring to “Kid Rock” in the third person, the musician addressed the controversy on Wednesday evening (June 9th): “If Kid Rock using the word f**got offends you, good chance you are one. The Detroit rap-rocker released a few under-the-radar albums in the early-to-mid ’90s before exploding with 1998’s Devil Without a Cause, which has since been certified diamond (!) thanks to songs like “Bawitdaba”, “Cowboy”, and “I Am the Bullgod”. He continued to achieve success on subsequent albums, offering a mix of heavy tracks and chart-topping adult contemporary ballads (“Picture”). Lately, though, just about every time he jumps back in the news it’s because he’s r...
