A nasty bout with food poisoning can lead a poor soul on a highway to hell right to the toilet, but for Angus Young, a visit to the toilet led to one of AC/DC’s signature songs. That’s right, the legendary guitarist conceived “Highway to Hell” while sitting on the porcelain throne. The revelation came in a new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, who had Angus and singer Brian Johnson share the stories behind a few of AC/DC’s best-known tunes. “We had started with the Highway to Hell album … we’d been in Miami, and we’d been in a rehearsal room and that’s what we were doing,” began Angus about the 1979 hit. “We were putting together new tracks. Warish, the punk trio led by Riley Hawk, are set to release the new album Next to Pay on April 30th. The band is premiering the LP’s latest single, “Seeing Red”, right here at Heavy Consequence. Riley, a pro skater and son of the legendary Tony Hawk, formed Warish in 2018, but the band has undergone a lineup makeover since their first album, 2019’s Down in Flames. In addition to Riley on vocals and guitar, the trio now features bassist Alex Bassaj and drummer Justin de la Vega (although original drummer Nick “Broose” McDonnell performs on roughly half the tracks on the new album). Dan Cleary, a former personal assistant for Marilyn Manson, alleges that the rocker abused and threatened to kill his current wife, Lindsay Usich. The revelation comes weeks after Manson’s ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, former girlfriend Esmé Bianco, and several other women accused the singer of abuse. Cleary, who initially worked as a a keyboard tech on Manson’s touring crew, served as his personal assistant from 2014 to 2015. The ongoing legal disputes between Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell, the widow of the late Chris Cornell, have managed to get even messier. Vicky is now suing Soundgarden over a buyout price for Chris’ share of the band. Vicky claims that the surviving members of the band offered her just $300,000 for Chris’ stake, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Essentially, Vicky feels she is being lowballed by Soundgarden, suggesting that they were offered $16 million from an outside investor for the masters — equating to $4 million for each member of the quartet. Vicky’s latest suit asks a judge to value Soundgarden’s assets.
