In Photos: Rise Against and Descendents Bring the Punk to New York City
On Friday night (July 30th), Rise Against and Descendents played one of the first big rock shows back in New York City since the pandemic started. The veteran punk acts rocked a sold-out concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on a beautiful night in the Big Apple. The show marked the second proper concert for Rise Against and first for Descendents since the concert industry came to a halt in early 2020. Thankfully, a clear night with low humidity greeted the bands and the fans, as the Empire State Building could be seen to the left of the stage, while the Brooklyn Bridge was visible to the right. A Day to Remember Announce 2021 US Tour with Asking Alexandria and Point North
A Day to Remember will officially return to the road this fall with “The Re-Entry Tour,” a six-week jaunt giving fans the chance to see the Florida rockers live for the first time in two years. The trek is set to kick off in Rochester, New York, at Main Street Armory on September 28th, and hit major markets across the U.S. before wrapping up with two shows in their home state: November 5th in Hollywood, Florida, and November 6th in St. Augustine, Florida. Cradle of Filth Announce 2021 North American Tour
Cradle of Filth have announced a fall 2021 North American outing, dubbed the “Lustmord and Tourgasm” tour. During the run, the UK extreme metal band will perform the 1998 concept album Cruelty and the Beast in its entirety, as well as a “lengthy encore of hits.” 3Teeth and Once Human will provide support for the 20-show tour. It kicks off on October 1st in Dallas and runs through an October 26th date in San Francisco. Sepultura Announce Spring 2022 North American Tour
Sepultura will make the trip back to North America in spring of 2022. The Brazilian heavy metal band has announced an extensive tour in support of their latest album, 2020’s Quadra, which they’ve been unable to support with live shows yet due to the global pandemic. The outing will kick off March 4th in Sacramento, California, and keep the veteran metal act on the road for a little over a month before wrapping up April 8th in Berkeley, California. Turnstile have unleashed the new song “Blackout” as the latest single from their forthcoming album, Glow On. In addition, the band has unveiled dates for a fall 2021 US tour with hip-hop acts $uicideboy$ and Slowthai. Municipal Waste have announced a fall 2021 US tour with Crowbar. The short run of dates kicks off in November with additional support from Skeletal Remains and Dead Heat. The 10-show route kicks off November 13th in Indianapolis, and runs through a November 23rd stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The California rockers have booked a fall North American run in honor of the 10th anniversary of their 2011 album, Pressure and Time. The outing, dubbed the “Pressure and Time Tour,” will feature support from by Dorothy on most dates, with Reignwolf and Myron Elkins at select gigs. Circle Jerks have once again rescheduled their North American 40th anniversary tour. The hardcore-punk legends’ updated itinerary features a series of separate legs that run from September of this year through May of next year, with Municipal Waste, Adolescents, and Negative Approach providing support on select dates. Originally, Circle Jerks had planned to tour in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their landmark debut album, Group Sex, beginning in May of 2020. Killswitch Engage have announced a livestream event set for August 6th. The band will perform 2019’s Atonement and 2000’s self-titled debut album in their entirety.
