Mr. Bungle Announce Virtual Halloween Concert

The show, dubbed “The Night They Came Home”, will premiere on October 31st. As previously reported, Mr. Bungle will release The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo on October 30th. The newly recorded LP updates a 1986 demo and features a lineup of original members Mike Patton, Trey Spruance, and Trevor Dunn alongside thrash legends Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Misfits). Setting the Stage: With the concert industry still at a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Corey Taylor announced that he would be streaming a full-production arena show from The Forum in Los Angeles. The “Forum or Against ‘Em” concert was scheduled to stream on Friday, October 2nd, the same day that his debut solo album, CMFT, arrived. Not only would he perform the entire album, but he also promised favorites from his bands Slipknot and Stone Sour, as well as select cover songs. Iron Maiden Announce New Live Album, Begin Work on New Music
Iron Maiden’s “Legacy of the Beast Tour” was an epic occasion. And like most of the band’s high profile tours, it will be immortalized as a live album, with the band announcing Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico, which arrives November 20th. The album was culled from Iron Maiden’s three sold-out arena shows in Mexico City in September 2019, during the heart of the band’s lengthy “Legacy of the Beast” trek. Clocking in at over 100 minutes, the tracklist encompasses the band’s setlist from the tour and is a perfect way to relive the experience. Early on during the COVID-19 outbreak, bands who announced rescheduled dates for early 2021 probably thought they were playing it safe. Now, with no end to the pandemic in site, those rescheduled tours are starting to get canceled themselves. Predictions of the concert industry not returning in earnest until late 2021 or even 2022 seemed shocking when they first made headlines in the spring. Melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquillity are returning with their first new album in four years, Moment, on November 20th. In anticipation, the Swedish band has shared the lead single, “Phantom Days”, and also announced a North American fall 2021 headlining tour with support from the decidedly obscure pairing of Obscura and Nailed to Obscurity. Dark Tranquillity have been proliferating melodic death metal since 1991 and are masters of the style at this point. “Phantom Days” continues the momentum gathered with 2016’s Atoma, which was heralded as a return to form for the band. Messina Judas Priest have announced that they are headlining and curating the new Warlando Festival set for September 11th, 2021 at the Orlando Amphitheater in Florida. The band shared the news on its Facebook page, but offered up few details except for the event’s poster, which features the initial lineup: Judas Priest, Sabaton, Lacuna Coil, Soulfly, Mushroomhead, and Uncured. Judas Priest were supposed to co-headline the Rebel Rock Festival with Limp Bizkit this month in Orlando. With that fest postponed to next year due to the pandemic, it appears Judas Priest took matters into their own hands, creating their own Florida festival. Code Orange Announce Under the Skin Digital Album and DVD, Featuring Alice in Chains Cover: Watch
Code Orange are releasing their recent stripped-down livestream, Under the Skin, on DVD and digitally as a live album. The digital release arrives this Friday (September 4th), while the DVD is available for pre-order. The recent performance saw the hardcore band stripping its songs down to an acoustic format. The concept and set design for Under the Skin are an obvious ode to MTV Unplugged, and Code Orange took the homage a step further with a daring cover of Alice in Chains’ “Down in a Hole”, which the latter played on their own Unplugged nearly 25 years earlier. The final release of Under the Skin touts remastered audio and high-res video, giving the performance a final sheen that was missing from the live broadcast. Lamb of God Announce Two Livestream Concerts, Featuring Full Album Performances
Lamb of God have announced two livestream concerts, taking place September 18th and 25th. The band will play its 2020 self-titled album and 2004’s Ashes of the Wake in their entirety during the respective shows, plus other favorites during the encores. The September 18th event will mark the “live” debut of Lamb of God’s acclaimed self-titled album, which came out amidst the pandemic on June 19th. The band would have embarked on a massive co-headlining tour with Megadeth in support of the album, but have postponed those dates until 2021. Instead, Lamb of God have turned to paid livestreams as physical concerts remain mostly on pause. Behemoth Announce Immersive In Absentia Dei Livestream Concert
Behemoth have announced a new immersive livestream event, “In Absentia Dei”. The black metal auteurs will broadcast the concert live from an undisclosed Polish church on September 5th, with special guests Imperial Triumphant performing from New York City. The show will stream in 4K high-definition with eight different camera angles to choose from — as well as a “Director’s Cut” option, ostensibly edited from the various camera angles. Metallica have been streaming full concerts from their archives every Monday since the pandemic began, and the latest one is a “big” treat. The metal giants are sharing the set from their historic “Big 4” show at Yankee Stadium in 2011. In 2010 and 2011, Metallica played a series of “Big 4” concerts with fellow members of the big four of thrash: Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The Yankee Stadium gig on September 14th, 2011, marked the last of those shows, and was attended by roughly 42,000 fans. The 18-song setlist featured classics from throughout the band’s career, including “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, “Master of Puppets”, and “Enter Sandman”.
