Guns N’ Roses Reschedule North American Tour Dates for 2021

After postponing their summer North American tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Guns N’ Roses have unveiled the rescheduled dates. The outing will now take place in summer 2021, but will be comprised of six fewer dates than the planned 2020 run. Originally, Guns N’ Roses had 19 North American shows scheduled for this summer, but the 2021 outing will only include 13 concerts. The band cites “routing and venue availability issues” as the reasons why six of the shows have been outright canceled. The 2021 run kicks off July 10th with a headlining appearance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and runs through an August 19th show at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The planned 2020 shows that are not being rescheduled or relocated to a nearby venue are Philadelphia; San Francisco; Atlanta; ...

Manuel Gagneux (Zeal & Ardor) Returns as Birdmask, Premieres Music Video for New Song “Set Me on Fire”: Stream

Zeal & Ardor frontman Manuel Gagneux has revived his long-running solo project, Birdmask, and is premiering the music video for new song “Set Me on Fire” exclusively via Heavy Consequence. Birdmask is Gagneux in his own creative element. Although some of the atmosphere and experimental ideas of his metal outfit Zeal & Ardor are present here, Gagneux embraces a varied spectrum of sounds — “pop-rocked-bliss” as he calls it. Most notably, his soaring vocals remain right up front. “I’ve had this song ready for a couple of years now but being preoccupied with other projects kind of forced me to leave it on the back burner,” Gagneux says. “I feel like it’s about time to let it out. In the time between then and now I was lucky enough to tour the world with a different project, score ...

Stone Temple Pilots to Perform Core in Its Entirety During Livestream

Stone Temple Pilots, featuring current lead singer Jeff Gutt, have announced an upcoming livestream performance of their classic 1992 debut album, Core. Plus, they’ve released a pair of archival concert recordings from 2011 and 2019, the former featuring the late Scott Weiland, the band’s original frontman. As live music remains in a relative stasis during the pandemic, the Stone Temple Pilots livestream is the latest in a bevy of virtual performances from isolated bands and artists. Like a ticket to a physical concert, access to the pay-per-view performance costs $9.99. The show airs next Friday (July 31st) at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET via live music curator nugs.tv. Stone Temple Pilots are also sharing shows from 2011 and 2019 via nugs, which hosts official live recordings of many popu...

The Sword Announce Conquest of Quarantine Session, Cover T. Rex’s “Children of the Revolution”: Watch

The Sword have announced a new socially distant performance series, Conquest of Quarantine. The heavy rockers are today premiering the first tune from the three-song lockdown session, a cover of T. Rex’s “Children of the Revolution’, exclusively via Heavy Consequence. The new series comes on the heels of The Sword’s recent career-spanning compilations, Conquest of Kingdoms and Chronology 2006-2018. Both cull archival live recordings, B-sides, and rarities. As singer-guitarist J.D. Cronise told us in our recent interview, the band hoped to tour in support of the album before the pandemic effectively paused live music. Instead, The Sword performed together virtually in isolation and streaming the footage for fans. “Since we’re not touring this summer as originally planned, we figured we shou...

The festival released a statement announcing the postponement: “After all the harm caused by COVID-19, there is nothing that we wanted mo...

For the latest installment of #MetallicaMondays, the thrash legends are revisiting their 2006 Master of Puppets 20th anniversary tour. On the very metal day of June 6th, 2006 (6/6/06) at Berlin’s Waldbühne, Metallica played their classic 1986 thrash masterpiece in its entirety, front-to-back, also premiering “The New Song”. The archival concert footage goes live this evening (July 6th) at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT via Metallica’s YouTube channel below. The Berlin show is historically significant for seeing the world premiere of “The New Song”. The Once-Named “Herd Immunity Fest” Seeks Fans’ Help in Setting Up Festival Grounds

The three-day rock festival previously referred to as “Herd Immunity Fest” is scheduled to kick off tomorrow (July 16th) outside the Q&Z Expo Center in Ringle, Wisconsin. With one day to go, organizers are seeking fans to help set up the festival’s site following some rough weather in the area. The Mini Fest, as it is now called, was met with backlash when it was first announced in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic as the “Herd Immunity Fest” last month. The festival’s announcement came as health experts and promoters have predicted concerts and festivals wouldn’t return in earnest until 2021. Nonpoint, one of the headliners, immediately dropped off the bill upon hearing the festival’s name. And there have been numerous lineup changes since the initial announcement. Of the initia...
