Uniform have unveiled the music video for “The Shadow of God’s Hand” ahead of their upcoming fall US tour with Portrayal of Guilt and Body Void. The track hails from Uniform’s excellent 2020 offering, Shame — one of our top heavy albums of the year. AC/DC have unveiled the music video for “Through the Mists of Time,” the latest single from their 2020 album, Power Up. The band has showcased some impressive videos to promote the Power Up singles, and the Najeeb Tarazi-directed clip for “Through the Mists of Time” is another visual feast. For this one, Tarazi and creative director Josh Cheuse used footage shot by Clemens Habicht of each of the five band members in five separate shoots around the world. Dave Grohl has lent his Foo Fighters throne to Seattle metal bassist Darin Wall, who heroically stopped a gunman from entering a venue in early September. Wall and his band Greyhawk were playing a show in Boise, Idaho, when an armed individual, 26-year-old Ethan Byrd, attempted to enter the venue. Wall pushed the gunman to the ground and was shot in the leg. Police apprehended the shooter, but the bullet is still in Wall’s leg. Johnny Ramone’s Mosrite Guitar Sells for Nearly $1 Million at Auction
A 1965 Mosrite Ventures II electric guitar owned by Johnny Ramone has sold for nearly $1 million at auction. The instrument was the late Ramones legend’s “main guitar” for two decades, and luckily escaped being stolen during a 1983 theft that cleaned the Ramones out of most of their gear. The guitar was sold by Daniel Rey, who produced Ramones albums and co-wrote songs with the band. He had bought the guitar from Johnny around the time the Ramones broke up. The winning bid via the Boston-based company RR Auction was $937,500. Converge and Chelsea Wolfe have announced a new collaborative album entitled Bloodmoon: I, arriving November 19th. As a preview, they’ve shared the music video for its lead single, “Blood Moon.” The collaborative effort also features Wolfe’s musical writing partner Ben Chisholm and Cave In’s Stephen Brodsky. The star-studded project came together out of the desire “to do something grander than the typical four-piece Converge music,” according to vocalist Jacob Bannon. David Lee Roth will help Sin City ring in 2022 with a residency at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Dream Theater Postpone North American Tour Due to COVID-19 Concerns
A month before their fall North American tour was set to kick off, Dream Theater have postponed the entire outing due to COVID-19 concerns. The trek will now kick off in February 2022, with the new dates to be announced shortly. The progressive-metal veterans had planned to kick off the tour on October 28th, which would have timed nicely with the October 22nd release of their new album, A View From the Top of the World. Tool Announce Massive 54-Date Tour for 2022
Tool will the return to the road in 2022 for an expansive tour that includes shows across the US, UK, and Europe. All told, Tool will play 54 concerts between January and May of next year. The tour officially kicks off on January 10th in Eugene, Oregon — the location of the next show Tool had been scheduled to play before canceling their 2020 tour due to the pandemic.
