Cave In Announce US Tour with Author & Punisher, Unleash New Song “Reckoning”: Stream

Cave In have announced a Summer 2022 US tour with Author & Punisher, and have shared the video for their new song “Reckoning.” It’s the fourth track we’ve heard from the Cave In’s forthcoming album, Heavy Pendulum (out May 20th), and marks the Boston band’s first song written entirely by guitarist Adam McGrath. Structured around skeletal acoustic strums, splashes of guitar, and an infectious rhythmic stomp, the track has a ’90s grunge vibe and churns with positive energy. “‘Reckoning’ started as a demo I sent to the band for consideration while mapping out the track list for Heavy Pendulum,” McGrath said. “It was inspired by the idea of adding a song to the acoustic/electric live sets Steve and I had been performing on and off for the last 20 years. A fresh song with that set-up (acous...

Rob Halford on Judas Priest’s Rock Hall Induction: “That’s the Blessing We’ve All Been Waiting For”

Judas Priest are set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2022. The legendary British metal band is receiving the Musical Excellence Award — the same award that saw the posthumous induction of Randy Rhoads last year. Although Judas Priest weren’t voted in by the Hall’s proper voting body, frontman Rob Halford called the induction a “blessing.” “It’s a very, very important institution for recognizing various people that have been in music since music began, right from the beginning of rock ‘n’ roll,” Halford told Billboard. “To be part of that is, like, wow. And glory hallelujah, there’s another metal band in now. That’s the blessing we’ve all been waiting for.” Advertisement Related Video Judas Priest were a constant on the Hall’s fan ballot for years ...

Geezer Butler on Working with Rick Rubin on Black Sabbath’s 13: “I Still Don’t Know What He Did”

Geezer Butler is still confounded about Rick Rubin‘s production work on Black Sabbath‘s 2013 album 13. In a new interview with Eddie Trunk, the Black Sabbath bassist offered up a less-than-thrilled recollection of working with the acclaimed producer on what remains the band’s final album. “Some of it I liked, some of it I didn’t like particularly,” Butler said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth). “It was a weird experience, especially with being told to forget that you’re a heavy metal band. That was the first thing [Rick] said to us. He played us our very first album, and he said, ‘Cast your mind back to then when there was no such thing as heavy metal or anything like that, and pretend it’s the follow-up album to that,’ which is a ridiculous thing to think.” Advertisement Related Video The ...

Rammstein Unleash New Album Zeit: Stream

German industrial-metal masters Rammstein have unleashed their eighth album, Zeit. The LP, which can be streamed below, comes exactly three years after the release of their previous full-length, 2019’s untitled effort. Rammstein had extensive tour plans lined up for their 2019 album, but the pandemic forced them off the road before they can play any 2020 shows. Instead of waiting around to hit the concert stage again, the band hit the studio to record Zeit, resulting in a relatively quick turnaround following a near 10-year gap between their two previous albums. Now, Rammstein will, in essence, be supporting two new albums when they finally resume touring next month in Europe. Among the dynamic live act’s 2022 dates is the band’s first-ever full-scale North American stadium tour, which was...

Esmé Bianco Accuses Marilyn Manson of Blocking Video from Screening on Deftones Tour

Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco, who is already suing Marilyn Manson for sexual assault and human trafficking, has filed new legal documents accusing the shock rocker of blocking a video of her that was meant to screen at Deftones’ current tour dates. Apparently, Bianco filmed a video that was supposed “to be used as part of the stage set for [Deftones’] current tour,” according to a motion filed on Wednesday (April 27th) in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The motion continued, “In exchange for providing her images, Ms. Bianco expected an economic benefit from significant public exposure via the band’s worldwide tour and the opportunity to continue working with the highly sought-after creative director who oversaw the project.” Advertisement Rel...

Metallica Unveil Rye the Lightning Whiskey, Offer Free Download of Only Full Ride the Lightning Performance

Metallica’s Blackened American Whiskey line has unveiled its latest concoction, the cleverly titled Rye the Lightning. The limited-edition liquor was crafted using sonic vibrations from Metallica’s only full-album live performance of their classic 1984 album, Ride the Lightning. Rye the Lightning is a 90 proof Kentucky straight rye double cask finished whiskey that has notes of “dried fig, hay, pinewood, pear, and rum cake on the nose, and on the palate, clover honey, mint, corn husk, sugar cane, walnut, and cinnamon.” Just like previous Blackened American Whiskey editions, the liquor was crafted utilizing the company’s trademark Black Noise sonic-enhancement process, which uses the low hertz frequencies from Metallica’s music to vibrate the barrels. In the case of Rye the Lightning, Metal...
