Tkay Maidza Announces 2021 North American Tour Dates
Tkay Maidza hasn’t toured North America since 2017, and so her new announcement has got the continent all “Shook”. The Australian-Zimbabwean rapper has unveiled a 16-date trek taking place in the fall of 2021. Maidza will kick things off in Los Angeles on September 11th, and combined with a September 16th stop in Brooklyn, this represents the tour aperitif. The main course takes place in October and November, with festival appearances including Austin City Limits, Day N Vegas, and All Things Go Festival. The rapper and singer shared the news on Tuesday via Twitter, simply stating that the project is “coming soon!” As usual, the meme king made the reveal in a unique way. Spoofing the opening to Marvel movies, Lil Nas X introduced Montero with a cinematic album trailer containing clips from his videos for “Old Town Road”, “Panini”, “Holiday”, and “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)”. Young Thug is headed for the big screen. The rapper has been cast in an upcoming hip-hop musical called Throw It Back, which will be co-produced by Tiffany Haddish. According to a press release, the film will be a “dance-filled musical dramedy set to a soundtrack of southern hip-hop and HBCU collegiate band rhythms.” Additionally, Young Thug is set to executive produce the film’s soundtrack and release it on his own label, Young Stoner Life Records.
