The Beastie Boys are back, sort of. The Hall of Fame inducted hip-hop crew have finally released Aglio E Olio on streaming services, a quarter century after they cut it. Aglio E Olio represents the Beasties in full-on punk mode. Its eight tracks are raw, high-octane and, at just 11 minutes in total, the EP has more pace than Usain Bolt. Think “Heart Attack Man” from Ill Communication, their classic album from 1994. Recorded the following year, in 1995, the EP was originally released on CD and 12″ vinyl record by the band’s now-defunct label Grand Royal. Amery “AWOL” Smith, drummer with Los Angeles thrash veterans Suicidal Tendencies, guests on the record alongside Ad-Rock, Mike D and the late MCA. Next month sees the release of Beastie Boys Music, a 20-son...
YoungBoy Never Broke Again, aka NBA YoungBoy, has unveiled his new album TOP. Stream it below via Apple Music and Spotify. This new project is technically the Baton Rouge rapper’s second proper full-length album after 2018’s Until Death Call My Name, however, it follows a very long list of EPs, mixtapes, and collaborative projects. In fact, it’s YoungBoy’s third release in 2020 alone, coming just months after the ‘tapes Still Flexin, Still Steppin and 38 Baby 2, shared in February and April, respectively. In keeping with this prolific nature, the 20-year-old has teased TOP with six singles: “Callin” feat. Snoop Dogg, “House Arrest Tingz”, “Sticks With Me”, “All In”, “Kacey Talk”, “Murder Business”, and most recently “Soul Stealer”. The album also promises a collaboration with Lil...

Everyone knows Cardi B has WAP: a Willingness to Arrest and Prosecute. In a recent Instagram live, the hip-hop superstar recalled getting a Trump-supporting teen arrested after he revealed her home address on the internet. As The Independent reports, Cardi B spoke to her fans on Instagram about a wide range of topics, including Joe Biden, Candace Owens, and how her vocal opposition to Trump has made her a target of right-wing trolls. She said that after one person doxxed her and encouraged people to “put my house on fire,” she felt compelled to hire a private investigator. She explained, “Shit gets so intense that a Trump supporter posted my address and encouraged people to dox my home, to put my house on fire. I literally hired a private investigator, and served them with a warr...
Conway the Machine and Freddie Gibbs have done some things they regret on the new collaborative track “Seen Everything But Jesus”. It’s off Con’s upcoming album From King to a GOD, which drops tomorrow, September 11th. The cut is a Beat Butcha production, with simple, descending piano chords playing off the urgent click of drums. That’s Conway’s voice on the hook, but while the Machine may be singing, it’s definitely not autotuned. The whole song benefits from this off-the-cuff delivery, especially given the rawness of the subject matter. “Look, Lil Lotto got shot,” Conway begins, “Mikey B got shot (Pssh)/ Lil Jojo got shot, ChineGun got shot (Rest in peace, n—-s)/ I start my verse sayin’ they names to show we haven’t forgot (Uh huh).” This is context for the pained chorus, as Co...
Snoop Dogg calmly listed the very long roster of people that Donald Trump has disrespected during his presidency in a new Instagram video, uploaded in the wake of reports that the commander in chief made disparaging remarks about military veterans. “So, me and my homeboys sittin’ up here talkin’ about all the people that President Trump disrespected… Women, gays, transgenders, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and now veterans,” Snoop said in the video posted on Wednesday (Sept. 9). “Hmmm. Seem like he’s disrespecting every color in the world and everything that ain’t what he is, which is a racist,” he added. According to Snoop, those who voted for the president “got exactly what they wanted. He gave them what he said he was gonna give ’em.” Rapper/producer Fred...

The cable outlet has ordered 10 episodes of Go-Big Show, which will feature “supersized talents” including monster truck drivers, alligator trainers and stunt archers, among others. The show has begun production in Macon, Georgia; host Bert Kreischer and judges Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles and Cody Rhodes announced the series Wednesday night in a promo that aired across TBS and sister networks TNT and TruTV. “Go-Big Show celebrates unique, untraditional and unforgettable American talent,” said Corie Henson, executive vp and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and TruTV. “Each contestant brings tremendous heart and swagger...

A man who broke into Eminem’s Detroit home earlier this year reportedly told the rapper that he was “there to kill him.” Matthew Hughes, 27, appeared in a Michigan court on Wednesday, facing a felony charges of first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building. If convicted, he could receive up to five years in prison. According to Click Detroit, security footage shown in court captured Hughes sneaking around Eminem’s home and throwing a paving stone through his back window, allowing him to gain entry inside. Eminem was awoken when his alarm system went off and he confronted Hughes in his living room. Hughes was then “detained” by Eminem’s security guards, who heard the commotion and ran inside. Officer Adam Hackstock and Detective Dan Quinn testified in court that Hu...
Travis Scott’s McDonald’s value meal may have left much to be desired, but the same cannot be said for the companion merch capsule. Scott is offering 60 (!) different pieces of McDonald’s themed memorabilia, including custom t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. The real good stuff, however, can be found toward the bottom of the page; there’s two types of McDonald’s throw rugs, a vintage lunch box and lunch tray, a burger tie, and a Happy Meal-inspired clutch. But the true star of the show is the 36″ body pillow made to look like a giant chicken McNugget. The merch retails between $25 and $300 and begins shipping in four to six weeks. As for Scott’s McDonald’s value meal, that’s available at select locations from now through October 8th. The $5.79 menu item includes a quarter pounder with cheese an...
The Lowdown: Since he first emerged on the hip-hop landscape, Big Sean has been recognized as one of the most talented MCs in the game. After displaying his skills in the presence of Kanye West at a local radio station, he was signed to G.O.O.D. Music in 2007, becoming one of the imprint’s flagship artists and continuing the legacy of Detroit hip-hop. With a frequent string of mixtapes and hit albums released throughout the 2010s, Big Sean garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, catapulting him into superstardom. It could be argued, quite convincingly, that Big Sean gave birth to a style that has influenced an entire generation of rappers, which brings us to the present. Taking time off to manage his mental health and discovering a renewed sense of inspiration, he makes his long-...
