Keanu Reeves has left Hulu’s upcoming The Devil in the White City series, Variety reports. A replacement has yet to be cast. Based on Erik Larson’s 2003 book of the same name, The Devil in the White City centers on Daniel H. Burnham, the architect of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America’s first modern serial killer who, in more sensationalized accounts of his life, constructed a “Murder Castle” to lure visitors into his grip during the event. Reeves was supposed to portray Burnham, while Holmes has still not been cast. The Devil in the White City was going to be Reeves’ first major television role. Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s FX comedy Reservation Dogs has been renewed for Season 3. The third installment is set to air in 2023, exclusively on Hulu. When it debuted in 2021, Reservation Dogs was the first television series written and directed entirely by Indigenous people. Filmed on location in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the series follows a group of Native American teenagers (Devery Jacobs, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor) who take to scheming and stealing in order to save up for a trip to California. In potentially bad news for your wallet, you’ll have to shell out a bit more soon if you want to keep watching Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ without ads. Disney is hiking the prices of ad-free subscriptions in the US this year, coinciding with the launch of its ad-supported version of Disney+. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+’s ad-supported tier will launch on December 8th and cost $7.99 a month — the same price the ad-free tier is now. As a result, the ad-free tier will then jump up to $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year, equalling a $3 monthly increase or $30 yearly increase. Meanwhile, beginning October 10th, Hulu will raise prices for all its subscribers. As the release date for Hulu’s unauthorized limited series about the life of Mike Tyson approaches, the boxer has once again expressed his unequivocal disapproval of the project by comparing the streaming service to a “slave master.” “Don’t let Hulu fool you. I don’t support their story about my life,” Tyson wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday, August 6th. “It’s not 1822. It’s 2022.
