The Moldy Peaches to Reunite for Performance at Meet Me in the Bathroom L.A. Premiere
The Moldy Peaches are set to reunite for their first live performance in over a decade at the Los Angeles premiere of Meet Me in the Bathroom, the new documentary about the early oughts New York City music scene. The premiere event is scheduled for October 27th at the Fonda Theatre in L.A, and marks Kimya Dawson and Adam Green’s first time performing together as The Moldy Peaches since 2011. The programming also includes a screening of Meet Me in the Bathroom as well as a discussion between moderator Tim Heidecker, directors Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, and author Lizzy Goodman — whose book inspired the film. Beck has dropped off Arcade Fire’s North American tour. The decision was first announced in emails sent to ticket holders, and Beck’s representatives have since confirmed his withdrawal to Consequence. Messages to ticket holders note that veteran Haitian roots band Boukman Eksperyans will be replacing Beck. The emails do not mention refunds, and they do not seem to be available. In an August 27th Pitchfork report, four people accused frontman Win Butler of sexual misconduct. Alex O’Connor, the singer known professionally as Rex Orange County, has reportedly been charged with six counts of sexual assault stemming from a string of incidents that allegedly occurred in June of this year. According to the Sun, O’Connor, 24, appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on unconditional bail ahead of a trial scheduled to begin on January 3rd, 2023. Oso Oso, the emo-pop project of Jade Lilitri, has returned today with a new single called “De Facto.” Lilitri wrote and performed nearly every instrument on “De Facto” with the exception of drums, handled by Jordan Krimston. The song is right in line with Oso Oso’s usual schtick of sweeping, bittersweet melodies, but thankfully, that schtick has yet to get old.
