Back in late September, Kevin Whelan of The Wrens revealed he would be releasing a solo record under the moniker Aeon Station. The Antlers Drop Surprise Losing Light EP, Announce 2022 Tour
It took The Antlers seven years to release this year’s Green to Gold, but now the duo is back with their second release in nine months. Today Peter Silberman and Michael Lerner surprise released Losing Light, an EP that reimagines four songs from their last record. They’ve also kept the ball rolling with word of their first tour since 2019. Losing Light trades The Antlers’ typical indie rock sound for an electronic edge. Courtney Barnett stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show on Monday (November 15th) to promote her masterful new album, Things Take Time, Take Time. This year marked the 20th anniversary of 11:11, the long out-of-print debut studio album by Regina Spektor. To celebrate its release, the Russian-American singer-songwriter is releasing a special limited-edition box set, set to arrive in May 2022. The 11:11 20th anniversary edition will feature a remastered copy of 11:11 with its original tracklist — a.k.a., the album Spektor self-released and distributed as she rose to indie prominence in New York City. The box set will also include Papa’s Bootlegs, two mastered vinyl-only collections of live performances with unreleased deep cuts from the 11:11 era recorded by Spektor’s father. In conjunction with the announcement, the band has unveiled the LP’s sparse title track as its second single. Beach House Announce New Album, 2022 Tour Dates
At long last, Beach House have announced a new album. Titled Once Twice Melody, the dream pop duo’s first long player in four years will be released in four distinct chapters, with the first arriving tomorrow (!), November 10th. Chapter two will released on December 8th, followed by chapter three on January 19th. The full album will then be revealed when the fourth and final chapter is published on February 18th. All told, Once Twice Melody spans 18 tracks entirely self-produced by Beach House. Victoria Legrand Alex Scally are accompanied on the album by a live string ensemble. Phoebe Bridgers and MUNA put themselves on the prom court during a performance of “Silk Chiffon” on The Late Late Show with James Corden. A sea of pink balloons framed the stage, as MUNA stood in front of silver fringe curtain with the word “MUNA” spelled out in latex and helium. Vocalist Katie Gavin wore a flowing skirt and a tiara, though the skirt didn’t make it through the first verse before it was flung away.
