The artist has just shared the new track “Salaried (Bankruptcy Eve)”, off of her debut LP Inconvenience Store, due out May 14th on Open Door Records and Broken Camera Records. Smol Data’s music sits in the vein of fellow bedroom pop acts like Adult Mom and illuminati hotties, building tracks around simple pop song structures cut with searing guitars and a strong DIY aesthetic. On her new track, Goldstein aspires towards the mundanities of full-time employment. “So honey, tell me, is she salaried? Are her invoices all paid? Does she...

Seek Shelter acts as Iceage’s own sonic laboratory, where they test hypotheses about introducing a significantly wider array of soundscapes into their catalogue. Seek Shelter is proof positive that these experiments paved the way to successful results, as it’s the band’s most inventive album to date. Their latest not only illustrates the breadth of Iceage’s range, but also that they’re not afraid to creatively roll the dice — and in the case o...

It’s called “I’ll Go Running” and it comes from her upcoming album Planet (i), due out June 25th via Polyvinyl. Stream it below. This is the second single we’ve heard from Planet (i), following “Hurt a Fly”, and it sees Squirrel Flower veering in a dark direction. Over drawn-out, minimalist drumming and guitar strums that are barely there, Williams sings about a rebirth of sorts fueled by resentment. It increasingly sounds like a whispered Low song, and Williams puts her own spin on that slowcore style with melodically mono...
