BTS’ “Permission to Dance On Stage” Was One of the Best-Selling Concerts in History
On any given day BTS are setting some record, but here’s an especially impressive feat: the group’s “Permission to Dance On Stage” residency at Los Angeles So-Fi Stadium was the biggest single venue concert engagement by any act in nearly a decade. According to Billboard, the four-night stand sold 214,000 tickets and grossed $33.3 million. That’s the biggest box office draw at a single venue since Roger Waters earned $38 million over nine shows at Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2012. In the US, there hasn’t been a single venue box office total that large since Springsteen’s legendary 10-show run at Giants Stadium in 2003. Madonna Brings Entire Catalog to Warner Music, Announces Reissue Series
Madonna has struck a deal with Warner Music that will bring her entire, record-setting catalog of music under the label’s purview. Today’s announcement coincides with Madonna’s 63rd birthday. Nearly 40 years ago, she launched her celebrated music career by releasing her debut single through Warner Bros. Streaming has become the most popular form of music consumption in recent years, accounting for roughly 64% of all recorded music revenues according to the RIAA US sales database. One of the most common questions, especially for musicians, is how those revenues are broken down, and how much each artist gets paid per stream. Music industry news has been strange as of late, but Four Loko has taken it to another level. The fabled malt liquor maker has launched its own record label and is debuting with a single from Valentino Khan, Wifisfuneral, and YBN Almighty Jay. Tame Impala Shares “The Slow Rush” North American Tour Dates
Shortly after the release of Tame Impala‘s mysterious “Rushium” video, a thrilling announcement was made. The artist will soon kick off a 2021 North American tour, which is set to begin in September at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee. The first phase of the tour, titled “The Slow Rush” has been dubbed “Phase 1 Rushium Trials” and also includes two performances at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Southern California.
