BTS Announce MTV Unplugged Performance

BTS have broken so many American records that it’s hard to remember there was a time where they weren’t one of the most popular international artists in the US. Now, the K-Pop superstars are cementing their place in western history by filming a “special edition” of MTV Unplugged, where they will join the ranks of iconic musicians like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. MTV Unplugged Presents: BTS was filmed in “intimate settings” in Seoul, South Korea. For the TV special, the newly minted 2020 Band of the Year will play live renditions of songs from their latest album BE (Essential Edition) — like the smash hits “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On” — as well as never-before-seen versions of their career-defining hits. SEVENTEEN Release Highlight Medley Video for New Album ; [Semicolon]: Watch

K-pop group SEVENTEEN have released a highlight medley video for their upcoming new album, ; [Semicolon]. Watch it below. ; [Semicolon] is the second special album SEVENTEEN have recorded. It’s currently scheduled to be released on October 19th, and they’re going big by making the physical version available in 13 different variants, one for each member of the group. To shake things up before the record hits streaming services, SEVENTEEN decided to gift fans a preview of each track. The six-song medley begins with the chipper finger snaps of retro opener “HOME;RUN”. It’s followed by the anthemic trap number “Do Re Mi (도레미)”, the pop-forward “HEY BUDDY”, and the jazzy rap “Light a Flame (마음에 불을 지펴)”. The album then closes out with the acoustic synth song “AH! BTS and BLACKPINK Make K-Pop History on Billboard Charts

BTS and BLACKPINK have made history on the Billboard charts… again. Thanks to their newest singles, “Dynamite” and “Ice Cream” respectively, both K-pop groups have just scored their their highest chart numbers to date. Last week, BTS landed their first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with “Dynamite”. It also marked the first time an all-South Korean act had nabbed that spot. Fast forward to today and “Dynamite” has yet to be dethroned, which essentially doubles the impact of those coveted accolades. Mind you, it held that title over the competitive Labor Day Weekend (!) with 17.5 million US streams (which was down 49% from last week) and 182,000 downloads sold (which dropped 31%).
